Rayman Pirate-Community

I would say Rayman Origins, the last half of the game is quite frustrating to me.
I don't consider Rayman 1 particularly hard as I'm a master at the game but some parts like Eat at Joe's or the the Space Mama boss fight are hell.
When it comes to reach 100% completion I would say Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc.

Also if I would have to rank all the Rayman games I know from hardest to easiest it would kinda go like this :

As i'm playing through the game with an effort to try scoring better, I am finding the latter actually more increasingly difficult than the former. So many errors can occur just in the first phase. I dunno if I'll ever score well enough here

That game for me's not really that hard. The second boss fight against Razorbeard and some of the Swamps of Begoniax/Magma Mayhem levels are a bit challenging for me, but not enough to outright call it the hardest game I've played.

It's a tough one though. Scoring well in Rayman 3 or else playing Rayman 1. Not that I find Rayman 1 hard but it's just more challenging than the others. A few UbiArt levels are a bit of a challenge too though if you haven't played the game much lately and want 100%

Unpopular opinion, but Origins is the hardest for me. But I don't consider the game hard though. I die more in the game than in Rayman 1.

After playing Origins for the first time I definitely have changed my opinions a bit, and I share your opinion now. Rayman 1 has stopped being a truly hard game. Even though I still die in Rayman 1 I don't use continues and most of the game's levels are second nature to me now. I die much more in Origins now, though thanks to unlimited lives and checkpoints it's not too hard even though I can still get frustrated on some levels, which is ok since I'm still getting used to mastering the game.

I wonder if I will feel the same way after playing Legends (eventually).

Like I said, UbiArt games are designed in that manner which is why they have unlimited lives. It's designed to be killed a lot and you can easily tell by the frequent checkpoints/unlimited lives. Everyone that played Rayman 1 and Rayman Origins will concede more deaths in Origins tbh, but more deaths doesn't mean you find the game harder to play.

Yeah that's true. I think for the time being my list would be this in terms of mainstream games. (hardest on bottom, easiest on top)

The mainstream games for me from easy to hard would be

I don't find any of them hard anymore, but that's just what I think for the level of difficulty.

I think I found Legends by far the easiest when I first played it, which explains why I was able to plough through it and remember nothing afterwards. The reason for that though is that I was much older and more experienced when I first played Legends than any of the others, and I had just redone Origins beforehand so I was used to the mechanics!

True, Origins and Legends are very similar aside from a few things like the ground pound and the way Rayman charges his fist so much faster in Legends. I noticed that in Origins, he draws his fist back really slowly compared to Legends. Maybe it's actually the same timing but just feels longer in Origins because of the animation, because in Origins he'll swing a fully charged punch as soon as his fist pulls back where it takes a couple of rotations in Legends instead.

I get what you mean though, the actual gameplay physics are identical aside from those little changes.

Oh, so it's not only me that had the same thing with the punch animation!

Yeah it's one of the first things I paid attention to after switching back to Origins again after playing Legends. Still though I think Legends is an amazingly good game too

Ah, so you've got the same opinion as me then. Great minds think alike, I suppose.

I must consider myself lucky to have beaten Rayman 1 in my childhood; it has prepared me for most reasonable platform game challenges (though there are games much harder / more unfair out there).

It didnt prepare me for shovel knight, oh boy it didnt

The hardest game is definitely Rayman 1, but if you play Rayman 3 for scoring, then that's even harder.

How about reaching rank 11 of awesomeness in Legends?
