Tobbe's sig wrote:We reserve the right to be religious for the young, the poor, the black and the stupid.
Well, what the fuck is that supposed to mean?

It's just a reference to another quote, you know. Tobbe's point is to attack religion, not black people

Where did that come from?

Well, American politics does get easily sickening, afterall. I'm already tired of hearing about the debates. :\

Please tell me you're joking.
You know, I've been talking with a friend of mine about Tobbe's sig, and I found that it's the image itself that I have a problem with more than the quote. I'd like an explanation for it please, as my friend and I see it as nothing more than xenophobic towards America. Sure America fucks up, but what other country doesn't?

As I always say to people about politics,
NO country's system is perfect right now.
As far the image goes, it should be "American weigh" rather than "American way", how can you miss that?

Approximately one-third of the adult population is obese and an additional third is overweight. Do you need any further explanation?

It's not really xenophobic, but you can't deny it is nationalist.

And being nationalist is a big no-no if you want any respect from me.

I'm for Obama. The republicans fucked up enough already the last 8 years. I don't live in the USA tough.

I just switched to siding with Obama as well.

Please explain. It's a caricature of enormous amount of obese people in the US. It doesn't have any deep political message or anything.

Personally I can't see how it's not, so I'd like you to explain.

Yeah Tobbe. Explain. Also explain the part of your sig which attacks black people and poor people.

I'm not attacking anyone but you, you moron.
As an ideology, nationalism holds that 'the people' in the doctrine of popular sovereignty is the nation, and that as a result only nation-states founded on the principle of national self-determination are legitimate.[citation needed] Since most states are multinational, or at least home to more than one group claiming national status,[3] the pursuit of this principle has often led to conflict, and nationalism is commonly associated with war (both external and domestic), secession, and even genocide in contexts ranging from imperial conquest to struggles for national liberation.
I can't see how this is related to
a fucking caricature drawing in any way.

Not that I really give a shit, but just to explain why it is....
It's not the text, but that pic in your sig. Being overweight is a way of life and has nothing to do with the country you're brought up in. It's just a stereotype that all/most of Americans are obese, and the pic in your sig makes a harsh joke of this. This is why it's nationalist.

You're using the wrong word. I'm not using the pic to glorify Norway or Norwegian, which would indeed be nationalist, I'm merely using it to make fun of the US.
Also, it seems that no Americans have made any negative comments to my sig pic. I can even recall Kelvin describing it as funny.
