Sure, but he wasn't. I'm not even sure he was given a name in the original game.Joshua822 wrote:If he was called Dark Rayman in the original name that would be his official name.

Yeah, that explains why the PS2 utterly destroyed the Gamecube and Xbox in both sales and the number of games available for it.Shawn wrote:HA! PS2 sucks!Fat_Mario wrote:Dark Rayman appears in Rayman Arena on Gamecube and Xbox only
I consider Dark Rayman and Bad Rayman to be the same. Just like flying rings are the same as purple lums.

What do you think is strange? The part about the purple lums and the flying rings, or the part about Bad Rayman and Dark Rayman?Hunchman801 wrote:This is a rather strange point of view, but you're entitled to your opinionspiraldoor wrote:I consider Dark Rayman and Bad Rayman to be the same. Maybe he thinks they're both strange because they're in different worlds. Assuming Rayman 1 takes place in another world from the other games of course.

Re: Dark Rayman
I've always said that Rayman 1 takes place in the same world as Rayman 2 and Rayman 3. I even have proof.
*goes to get the proof*
EDIT:
*goes to get the proof*
EDIT:
This proves that Rayman washed up on the shore of the Glade of Dreams before he defeated Mister Dark. Make of that what you will. The Rayman 2 manual wrote:"Rayman is a unique character of unknown origin, no wise man or magician can say by what twist of fate or whim of the gods Rayman came to appear at the Glade of Dreams. Rayman was found Washed up by the sea of lums. On a particularly stormy night, they found Rayman sleeping peacefully under the shade of a palm tree. Frightened by this strange creature from the sea, they called on the people of the forest, the skies and the waters for help. And the sun had not yet reached the zenith when a host of beings, each one more bizarre than the rest, came tumbling over the violent sand dunes. They studied him for a long time. "What kind of creature Is this?" they asked each other. "Is he alive?" wondered one when Rayman stretched and yawned. It didn't take Rayman long to convince the people of the Glade of Dreams of his good intentions. His energy and good humor, his fantastical powers and love for life and nature won over even the most distrustful of the beings. And when he triumphed over the evil Mr. Dark, the truth was undeniable - Rayman was the bravest of them all, the ideal hero, the man for whom friendship and laughter are more important than anything else, for whom the greatest victory is measured by the extent of celebrations that follow it."

It's been proved several times actually.
Hunch and Dingo, you both need to go back to Rayman school.

That's one proof. Another one is the plums. The big plums in R1, in R2 and in R3, ya know?
And then a shitload of other things.

I'm afraid you missed my point. Of course both games take place in the same world, but I simply meant that you never get to revisit any of the Rayman 1 worlds, as far as I know.spiraldoor wrote:I've always said that Rayman 1 takes place in the same world as Rayman 2 and Rayman 3. I even have proof.

There was a lot of them.
You get to revisit the Dream Forest, Picture City and Candy Chateau in Rabbids GBA. The Woods of Light might be in the Dream Forest, as some of the backgrounds are similar, and there's those Moskitos there. You revisit Dream Forest and Picture City in 2D Madness and 2D Madness 2/2D Nightmare. Clearleaf Forest has pictures of Livingstones on the plum posts, so it may be in the Dream Forest.Hunchman801 wrote:I'm afraid you missed my point. Re: Dark Rayman
I was talking about the main games, usually considered as canon. As for the Woods of Light and Clearleaf Forest, it's just a supposition, and the livingstones on the plum posts are nothing more than a reference to Rayman 1. I don't disagree with you at all, but there's just no proof.spiraldoor wrote:You get to revisit the Dream Forest, Picture City and Candy Chateau in Rabbids GBA. *palms face* I think Bad Rayman is a more Rubbish name for Dark Rayman. Anyway, yeah, he is in Rayman Arena. But just a Skin of Rayman.Xenon wrote:That's Bad Rayman![]()
I think Dark Rayman only appears in Rayman Arena, but I'm not entirely sure because I own PS2 Rayman M, similarly to you.

The plums! The R2 N64 manual! The antitoons in R2 PS1! They're all proof!Hunchman801 wrote:I was talking about the main games, usually considered as canon. I don't know whether I should go back to the Rayman school, but I'm sure you definitely need to learn the difference between a proof and and a reference.El Dango wrote:The plums! The R2 N64 manual! The antitoons in R2 PS1! They're all proof!

Re: Dark Rayman
Read the above quote carefully, and you will see that these are the order of the events which occured:The R2 Manual wrote:"Rayman is a unique character of unknown origin, no wise man or magician can say by what twist of fate or whim of the gods Rayman came to appear at the Glade of Dreams.
1: Rayman appears on the shore of the Glade of Dreams
2: The inhabitants of the Glade find him sleeping
3: A large crowd gathers around him
4: The people of the Glade find him to be a strange creature; they are suspicious of him
5: He wakes up
6: With his energy, humour, powers and love for life and nature, he convinced them of his good intentions
7: When he defeated Mister Dark, they all came to realise that he was "the bravest of them all, the ideal hero, the man for whom fellowship and laughter are more important than anything else, for whom the greatest victory is measured by the extent of celebrations that follow it."
This proves that Rayman's defeat of Mister Dark occured after his appearance in the Glade of Dreams, and that therefore the locations of Rayman 1 are in fact in the Glade of Dreams.
The beach that Rayman was found on is probably the very beach he is seen on here: People sometimes say that Rayman's origins are that he was transported somehow from his own world in Rayman 1 to another world in Rayman 2, and that this is not a creation of Polokus. People who say this are wrong. If this was the case, then Rayman was not special in his own world at all; he was just another "Limbless", which is obviously not the case. If he was just another guy in his own world, why does he have that 0 on his front? Why was he chosen, and able, to defeat Mister Dark, along with all his minions? Why would a normal guy be given powers from fairies such as Betilla, if, according to the lums in R3, he was the first one to receive them? See? He was obviously a unique being in R1, as he is in R2.
And don't forget the LOADS of things which appear in R1 as well as the other games, none of which are proof, but all of which are evidence: not conclusive, but valid.
Anyway, why am I continuing to make these areguments? There's no need. I've already proved it.
Now will you all PLEASE stop these silly suggestions that Rayman was teleported to a different universe and that all of the games somehow forgot to mention it? Yes, all seven hundred of you. I don't know who came up with this, but it has to stop now before it spreads any more. It's bad enough that it's all over the internet already.

You're preaching to the choir.
Where have you found this?
Violent sand dunes? They're violet in the French version, not violentspiraldoor wrote:And the sun had not yet reached the zenith when a host of beings, each one more bizarre than the rest, came tumbling over the violent sand dunes.
