Perhaps the bones on sticks are prisoners' skulls. Everyone knows that it was tradition to stick heads on sticks after the prisoner has been beheaded.

Dunno what kind of prisoners we're talking about though. Could be Mawpaws or something.

@ Hunch: True, but there's also nothing to say it is :bad:

Is there an image of the Mawpaw's, 'cause I haven't seen them.

It's the creature that gets shaved by Black Lums in the first cinematic.

I'd say that that creature was actually going to appear in the game (not only in the intro), and they had made an in-game model and textures for it by the time they decided to scrap it. So instead of deleting it, they made it an Easter Egg.

Indeed ^^

Anyway, I see two likely origins for those bones. They could have belonged to huge and slow creatures which couldn't escape the deadly warming of the desert, but they could also be long disappeared predators of the Knaaren. Or maybe both.

I think this engraving suggests the existence of such predators, but I'm not sure.

Or it could be the teensies the Knaaren have capture. (Look at the stuff on the walls on the Roundabout Escalator)

Or it could be the knaaren olympics.

In The Longest Shortcut, there are wall paintings of Teensies capturing Red Lums with nets.

No wonder the hoodlums caged them up. :)

Yep. I try doing the same thing sometimes. :P

I think one of those is still alive, actually. That would explain the creepy roar in the second last part of the desert.

That was probably a knaaren. Or maybe a hoodlum stubbed his toe. ^_^

No, it doesn't sound like any of those. It sounds like a monster. A big, scary monster.

I noticed it straight away when Murphy was flying him.
