Rayman 2 and 3 PC

Any controller will do, personally I prefer keyboard for Rayman 3, but I have used the Xbox 360 wired controller in the past and it worked well.

I thought any controller would do but the one i got seemingly doesn't, will have to find a wired Xbox controller i guess...

I didn't bother to read through all the replies, cuz you guys obviously weren't familiar with Windows 7.
So if you're still having problems with playing Rayman 2 and 3 on W7, read this:

You can play all the games that ar compatable with windows XP on a windows 7 computer. This is because W7 has a sandbox feature with Windows XP already installed. Just rightclick the .exe file and go to properties. Under one of the tabs, there should be an option to run it in Windows XP mode.

Rayman 3 works under XP compatability mode, but you can't with Rayman 2 on a 64-bit system.

If your computer is really good, you can set up a virtual computer and install windows 98 on it.

I'd not have the time or tech ability to do that. But i'm not bothered, i only needed rayman 3 on the PC working. Thanks anyway.

Rayman 3 works under XP compatability mode, but you can't with Rayman 2 on a 64-bit system.

He got the problem to run Rayman 2 in Windows 7 64bit at that time.
Now in Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Build 1511 and updated, as of 12 June. 2016 Rayman 2 can be installed normally and played without any compatibility settings for GXSetup.exe to run before starting the game , but only need the compatibility "Windows98/Me" to Rayman2.exe;
