That's why I'm looking forward to find a 486 here to make DOS games work superbly. :D

Here's my computer, built in August 2007:

Image

OS: Windows XP Professional SP3 32-bit
Sound card: Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio
Graphic Card: ASUS EAH5770 Series (This was bought last month, my previous card, the NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT died :(...)
RAM: G-Skill 4GB DDR2 Double Channel 1066 Mhz
CPU: Intel Corporation (Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 @ 2.66Ghz)
Bluetooth: Yes
Hard Disk: 3 Hard Disks that make 880 GBs of total space.
Other stuff: It has got card slots for several formats like SD, XD, etc.

Etc...

I also have got a laptop bought in November/December of 2009: an HP Pavilion d6 1050-ep.

(Yes, my boot screen has got a RO picture. :D )

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9200M
RAM: 4GB
CPU: Intel Corporation (Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 @ 2.40Ghz)
Hard Disk: 1 Hard Disk with around 460 GB of total space. A partition of almost 9 GBs is reserved for a System Recovery image.
Bluetooth: Yes
Other stuff: It can read SD cards.

And this was my previous computer, that I used between the year 2000 and August of 2007, with Windows ME, but it doesn't work since the Motherboard died :( :

And if that isn't a problem already, laptops don't have normal PCI-express xN slots, but weird mini-PCI(-express) slots for expansion card and it's often already hard to get inside the laptop for replacing a hard drive or a memory bank.
The price doesn't matter that much if it's cracked :P, and you need windows 7 if you want to play DirectX 10 or 11 Games.
Doesn't Windows recognize a cracked version and shut itself down accordingly? And with cracked versions you also never know if it's malware free.

And DirectX 10 and 11 based applications will run fine on Windows Vista as well. ;)

Can't Windows Vista do that too?
Vista starts supporting 10 and Windows 7 11 i think, also my cracked windows 7 works just fine :mryellow:

This is my main one, a MSI GX-660

And then this one is a custom machine from 2007 that just sits in my basement. When I do use it, it's generally for older games that won't work on the above one.

Oh, and the Hunter Razzy mentions iHeckler because of this post. Now you believe? I can't resist when he, like, begs, "Include me to this post pweeeease?" (Insert Puss In Boots stare here).

Just like my aunt's one (except for lacking of a webcam). It also came with pre-installed Linux I had to remove, since we were both total zeros at Linux in those days.
(I'd like to try Ubuntu Studio one day, but have to wait till the desktop is fixed - it has two hard drives of large volume).

If you have a old computer (Windows 95-98-ME or even XP), you can install Ubuntu, it's the best for olds computer (Xubuntu more precisely). And I want to precise, my computer where I have Ubuntu has 512 MB RAM

My desktop exactly has XP and same amount of RAM as yours. :)
Xubuntu more precisely
But Studio is more tuned to an artist's needs.

Haha, a hacking studio? Maybe. The piano/mac kind of look like a server rack (OMG RHYME) and the inside of my computer with the lighting and all kind of looks like something out of transformers.

Jesus that's a lot of screens/equipment in one place. In my house, it'd likely blow a fuse.

I only got a simple laptop, which I maybe soon should replace, since it's starting to refuse to cooperate.

Not too bad, but with a screen like that, playing Ray2 & Ray 3 is taken to a new level! :)
