Re: Rayman 1 (Atari Jaguar) Emulator + 100% Complete Savegame
Darn, my recorders make the emulator run at 48 FPS and I can't make it run 60. I can't record a walkthrough like this.

I have it set to NTSC. Anyway, I figured out a way to record the soundtrack (though no good for actually playing), and will upload the soundtrack later.

That's fantastic news!L.M. Murphy wrote:I have it set to NTSC. Anyway, I figured out a way to record the soundtrack (though no good for actually playing), and will upload the soundtrack later.
I am looking forward to it!
Do you think you will be able to record it with decent sound quality?
The sound has a tendency to get really choppy on this emulator at times, at least for me...
@Haruka:
I'm sorry to hear that...
Isn't there any way to record videos without speed loss?
Re: Rayman 1 (Atari Jaguar) Emulator + 100% Complete Savegame
I would to know about alternative recording programs or methods, because either FRAPS or Hypercam 2 make it run slower when recording.

Re: Rayman 1 (Atari Jaguar) Emulator + 100% Complete Savegame
I've beaten this version of the game before with Project Tempest and the 99 lives cheat though PT doesn't do sound. And yes the freezing upon pressing left and right at the same time did occur in PT as well so I had to be really careful plus it saves so that was handy too. I'll give this a shot now.
edit: just about got the sound to work though this is one very temperamental emulator. Guess my laptop is just not powerful enough for it to sound nice, here the sound is clunky as hell.

@ upaluppa: Regarding that discovery: If I recall it correctly, it's the animation played right after recieving the power from Betilla (though I might be wrong).
Doing that (I mean, pressing opposite directional keys) sometimes worked for me and sometimes not (either the game played that animation or crashed) - and I was using Project Tempest...
Oh, and on VirtualJag the sound is MEGA slow... And I mean the BGM. This sounds really funny for me...

The slow music must be related to your computer hardware.Wiiola wrote:Oh, and on VirtualJag the sound is MEGA slow... And I mean the BGM. This sounds really funny for me...
The music was playing nicely on on my desktop PC, just the sound FX (collecting Tings etc.) were a bit scratchy.
On my notebook, however, the game was running extremely slow.
It was near unplayable, even when the sound was turned off...

Re: Rayman 1 (Atari Jaguar) Emulator + 100% Complete Savegame
My laptop has only about 1GB RAM so yeah...not good. Plus it kept crapping out whenever I tried to adjust the misc settings to PAL.
Did a new SVN build of VJ come out recently or something then?

Re: Rayman 1 (Atari Jaguar) Emulator + 100% Complete Savegame
A more recent SVN build should be available! (Well, more recent than the precompiled win32 version at least)StaceyW wrote:Did a new SVN build of VJ come out recently or something then?
You can grab it from one of the mirrors available on the VJ site.
This one should be online and up to date:
https://shamusworld.gotdns.org/svn/virtualjaguar/trunk/
The version from my download is probably outdated...
(I was just too lazy to compile the source myself and the precompiled one was working without any problems for me)
Re: Rayman 1 (Atari Jaguar) Emulator + 100% Complete Savegame
I think that's the reason...
My PC too has 1 GB RAM... Guess I know what to do with all the money I'm collecting... Wait... collecTING? (Sorry, that was random...)
So far the theme I like the most while playing it that way is the track playing in the part when Betilla gives Rayman a new power. It sounds so evil-ish...
Oh and the random stoping of the track (along with SFX) just to randomly re-play itself sometime later... Sometimes it scares me!
Umm, about that link... Firefox tells me that this isn't a trusted site... I wonder why?
By the way, scratch the info about evil BGM - it was happening because I kept using an outdated version of the emulator and not the one from your download... My bad... (The emulator you gave is working just fine for me!)

That's because they are using their own certificate which is not officially signed...Wiiola wrote:Umm, about that link... Firefox tells me that this isn't a trusted site... I wonder why?
Well, that way they don't have to pay for the certificate but their visitors might be sacred away by the warning Firefox gives out...
Looks like a fair deal, doesn't it?
We also use our own, non licensed certificate at university, that's why this Firefox warning is nothing new to me.
Don't worry, there are no viruses or things like that on that site, in case you thought so.
It's really just warning to notify you that the website admin did not want to pay for an officially signed certificate.
Re: Rayman 1 (Atari Jaguar) Emulator + 100% Complete Savegame
I really didn't know about it... Thank you for your reply!
Besides, I just wanted to ask because I didn't know it should be that way...

No problem!Wiiola wrote:I really didn't know about it... Thank you for your reply!

I am glad I could help.
Just ask if there's any other problem with that emulator.
And let me know how the SVN build works for you, if it runs better than the older version I am using I might update my emulator and also replace the download link in this thread with the new version!

Diamante please stop quoting yourself and be patient! >:C
Besides if that's the case of the final game not loading, hit reset and you should get the Jaguar logo.

Re: Rayman 1 (Atari Jaguar) Emulator + 100% Complete Savegame
It load, but it crashed when 5 minutes happened, I dont know why
Re: Rayman 1 (Atari Jaguar) Emulator + 100% Complete Savegame
Sorry, I must have missed your last reply somehow...Diamante wrote:Please UpaDiamante wrote:But the final game crashed too, Dammit why?
Anyways, I'd love to help you getting this game to work, honestly, but I just don't know what the problem is since the game is working fine on my computer with exactly the same emulator under exactly the same settings. (Unless you changed the emulator settings)
Could you try to specify your problem a bit more?
At which point in the game does it crash for you?
Does it only crash if you do something specific while playing or does the crashing just randomly happen without any apparent reason?
Or are you saying that it crashes immediately, as soon as you try to load the game?
And most importantly, did you change any of the emulator settings like NTSC/PAL mode, DSP On/Off etc.?
Re: Rayman 1 (Atari Jaguar) Emulator + 100% Complete Savegame
I change nothing
The game work properly when I load it and I press reset, but within minutes, it closed like if I was click in the red ''X'' for close it

Re: Rayman 1 (Atari Jaguar) Emulator + 100% Complete Savegame
I have two ideas as to why it happens...
1. You hit 't' on the keyboard (at least in my computer it terminates this application);
2. You pressed opposite directions (sometimes the game crashes, sometimes not);
