Or sign a contract with UbiSoft, save cash on character designers and insta-gain publisher? It's a choice.

If you ask me, I'm a lot more interested in finding out more about those enemies from
the beta version of Rayman:
They were created as early as the times when the cancelled SNES version was being developed:

That said, originally they were quite bigger (or Rayman and his sidekick were smaller). It is quite possible they moved them and everything to Jaguar, then applied new (then) graphics style to Rayman and resized him.
Baseless imagination tells me first two small things are the same enemy in "jump'n'bite" and walk state, or in 3hp and 2hp state. The last one looks like 1hp state or something that would follow main enemy.

Judging by the walking and biting animations, I think its safe to assume they may be early versions of the Antitoons. Just a guess
