Sorry but the people at my school believe The Netherlands is a desert, so I couldn't possibly understand all these things. What is transportation? Is it a living thing?

Oh, this is just my topic.
When I became a fan of Rayman I was curious about sharing my interests with others, until my brother laughed and teased me for liking Rayman. He discouraged my every doodle, work or anything that was related to Rayman, even up to the point that I quit working on an old fanfic, if anybody may remember it. At that point it became more of an 'internet only' thing. I've never had the courage again to share this with other people up close and personal in fear that they don't like the games and will dislike (or even pester) me for it, just like my brother did.
I generally try to keep it a secret to friends in online games aswell, unless I learn they like the franchise aswell. I've tried bringing the topic up a FEW times, but in almost all cases, they ended up in discussions about "terrible games with ugly cow-faced characters".

My cousin did the same a few years ago. What I did is deny to give up because he wanted and I didn't listen to him anymore.I did like he was right but when I went back home I just said he's stupid and continue doing what I wanted. He always laughed at me because I liked Pokemon,Crash Bandicoor and Rayman while he liked Call of Duty and those shooters.I didn't even thought of leaving platformers...

It hurts the worst when close ones do that to you.

Yes.A lot...But I always thought my cousin is a bit stupid and that it wasn't none of his business if I play platformers. Finally he got bored of botherng me because he said it to the point I finally didn't care what he said and didn't listen to him xD

Actually, I have never met a person in my whole school that likes anything besides Call of Duty, Halo, and Uncharted. I thought that this was in America only, but when I went back to the Netherlands in march my best friends showed me the exact titles.
Sure, I like Half-Life, Uncharted, Dead Space. Great games, but just because one franchise is good doesn't mean everything else in gaming sucks. I have a large variety in my gaming choice.

I was pretty insulted when one person called Rayman cow-headed. XD It's was obvious he never played a good platformer before (he was a WoW addict) and I just thought to myself "Meh, the first Rayman is too hard for you anyway."

Exactly! I bet nobody in my whole school could get past Bongo Hills, maybe not even Moskito's Nest. xD

I can't get passed Bongo Hills I can't pass the part when it's night and there are many things that shoot rays at you

I hope to buy the original game from GOG.com sometime because I played it a few times, never got past that forest level where the water rises and you must plant seeds to get up to the top. XD

Don't worry man, when I played a week ago I got stuck on that dreaded Moskito's nest without typing passwords because I was counting on my luck, then I kept dying on the part with moving nenuphars, then I wasted a continue on running away from Moskito so I started the game again with typing passwords and after a week of getting my nerves back together, I finally beat the level but I'm too afraid of going to Bongo Hills

Only two people dared to insult Rayman in front of me, and I can guarantee you that both two had very bad karma.

Bong Hills really is one of the hardest levels of R1, i got past it ca. 10 times - i don't play that level much

I'm surprised people would laugh at others for liking Rayman. It isn't even that childish. This isn't My Little Pony or anything.
It would be the same thing as saying "You play Super Mario Brothers? Pffft, loser!"
