Re: Sports
Bumping. Was going to create a sports topic but use of the search feature led me here.
My main sport is baseball. I watch as many of my favorite team's games during the MLB season as much as I can (162 games). I also enjoy bowling and golf, but nowhere near as much as baseball. I do bowl a game or two in my free time though.

Re: Sports
Can't stand sports myself, especially watching it on TV. I'm not a particularly enthusiastic or competitive person, most of the time at least, so if ever I find myself playing sports I tend to just walk around doing not much and I don't feel particularly compelled to win because neither winning nor losing feels particularly fun. It's different when it comes to things like computer games, I think probably because while sportsmen enjoy competing with physical skill and endurance, I have very little
but I much prefer to hone and demonstrate the quick thinking and decision making used in videogames (not that these aren't used in sports, but I just dislike the physical side) so I usually feel more competitive with them

Re: Sports
Tennis and golf, though I've also picked up an interest in soccer (international football), baseball and basketball recently. Though tennis is still my favorite sport. I used to swim, play tennis, baseball, and soccer when I was younger. Edit: I'm not the best swimmer but I think I'm good enough.
My dad thinks so too, he watches the tennis channel at least twice a day and he used to play in his spare time also.Haruka wrote:The only sport I find interesting is Tennis.
I know which baseball game I'm watching today! And it's in less than 30 minutes over here!Ray502 wrote:What a time to be a big sports fan! Opening Day MLB action is today, the NBA playoffs are nearing and The Masters is next week!

I was extremely pleased a couple of weeks ago when Ireland won the Grand Slam on Saint Patrick's Day.
That is all I have to say about sports for now.

Ah, World Series champion Houston Astros at that! And I see they are off to a good start, winning 4-1.The Jonster wrote:I am going to be watching the Astros vs the Rangers. I'm a Houston boy after all
My Tampa Bay Rays won in comeback fashion, scoring 6 runs in the 8th inning to beat the Red Sox 6-4. Great start as well!

Houston sports teams are on FIRE this time around. Along with the Astros first win, The Rockets won yet another game and have now clenched the #1 seed from the Warriors!!
Hmm...I wonder how long this streak will last?

Re: Sports
My favorite NBA team is the Miami Heat, but I do like watching the Rockets whenever they show their games on NBA TV or TNT. I enjoy watching James Harden and Chris Paul play, the frontrunner for this year's MVP award and one of the best Point Guards in history, respectively.

Re: Sports
Today was a hard day.
Rockets got beat bad by the Spurs, 83-104.
Ouch. Well I guess you can't win them all eh?
On the bright side, the Astros won again!!! It seems that the banner ceremony for them is tomorrow at Minute Maid Park and then the rings will be out the next day I think.
Edit: Oops, i meant 83-100.

Hey Jonster, are you excited for your Rockets? Number 1 seed in the Western Conference playoffs, and they are playing tonight against the Timberwolves in Game 1.The Jonster wrote:Rockets

This reminds me of those times my mom would tell me about those "Clutch City" days in the 90s when the "Twin Towers" were the keys to scoring victory in the Playoff Championships (1994-1995). If I remember, neither time were they the 1st seed, which makes me quivering with anticipation what this time will bring. Haha I apologize I shouldn't be too cocky at times like this. I wish all the teams competing good luck.

Did I really most of Wimbledon? Yes I did.
Oh well, at least i watched the semifinal of mens' singles and the womens' final.
My mom was quiet and livid when she watched Nadal lose to Djokovic. Yikes.
Too bad for Serena Williams though, would have been nice if she won, but Angelique Kerber did a wonderful job shutting down Serena in the first set. She may have lost the final to Kerber, but it was amazing for a comeback after becoming a mom!
Look forward to seeing the mens' final tomorrow....if I can stay awake long enough since I have to drive tomorrow
