It’s truly beautiful to see how long this community has stood! I may have joined in 2017, but I’m really happy to have been part of this adventure even for only a few years so far!

I know 5 year olds who have their own tablets now. I definitely didn't have my own technology until I was at least 10. Then again maybe kids don't join forums these days either...

I learned to program in Visual Basic when I was like six, and just loved doing all sorts of esoteric technical stuff with computers. Because of that, I get really nervous when people talk about not letting kids have access to devices, or "screen time", or whatever they're saying these days. Of course, the flipside is that I had a 56k dial-up modem back then, so I wasn't gonna access much weird stuff on the internet, unlike kids these days.

I remember the dial-up modems. Man that connection tone never fails to bring back childhood memories.

I think I have a recording of one of my modems somewhere. Unless it got deleted on one of those occasions when I cooked / erased a hard drive…

We definitely did, but then again I don't think we ever got an answer to this existential question. Regardless, I'm sure that there must have been quite a few of them by now!
