Re: Eighteen years of Pirate-Community
It’s truly beautiful to see how long this community has stood! I may have joined in 2017, but I’m really happy to have been part of this adventure even for only a few years so far!
Re: Eighteen years of Pirate-Community
I know 5 year olds who have their own tablets now. I definitely didn't have my own technology until I was at least 10. Then again maybe kids don't join forums these days either...

Re: Eighteen years of Pirate-Community
They don't
I learned to program in Visual Basic when I was like six, and just loved doing all sorts of esoteric technical stuff with computers. Because of that, I get really nervous when people talk about not letting kids have access to devices, or "screen time", or whatever they're saying these days. Of course, the flipside is that I had a 56k dial-up modem back then, so I wasn't gonna access much weird stuff on the internet, unlike kids these days.

I remember the dial-up modems.
Man that connection tone never fails to bring back childhood memories.

Re: Eighteen years of Pirate-Community
I think I have a recording of one of my modems somewhere. Unless it got deleted on one of those occasions when I cooked / erased a hard drive…

Re: Eighteen years of Pirate-Community
I have the one associated with your RaymanPC account, don't I?
Re: Eighteen years of Pirate-Community
I don't think you do. Even if you did email it to me, I'd probably forget and send it straight into the trash where it belongs

Indeed, here's hoping for another eighteen…

Well, you're the one who asked me for it in the first place

Re: Eighteen years of Pirate-Community
We definitely did, but then again I don't think we ever got an answer to this existential question. Regardless, I'm sure that there must have been quite a few of them by now!Xenon wrote: Sat Aug 21, 2021 11:19 pm Happy eighteenth, RPC! Anyone know the first instance of someone registering who was younger than the board itself? We used to talk about that...
