Hello !

Do we have to show a timer at all times or we can just show our gameplay ?

Hi there! No need for a timer on the video, just be sure to time your run, include it in your PM, and we'll verify it when reviewing the submission. ;)

Yes, you normally need to make a few posts first, but I've manually approved your account so it should be good now. :)

Guys, we've received a couple submissions for the HD version of the game, but unfortunately we're not able to accept them.

By Rayman 3 we meant the original versions of the game, not Rayman 3 HD which introduces a handful of significant changes to the scoring system. Notably, it allows green gems to be taken for 12.000 (or even 15.000) points in a combo when using a power-up, something which gives a huge advantage over players of the original versions, where it is only possible to get 9.000 combo points.

Apologies for the confusion, we thought it was clear that the intent was to celebrate the original release that spawned a vibrant scoring community for many years, and not the HD remaster which came much, much later, but it's now obvious that we should have stated it more clearly and we hope this won't make the contest any less fun... Thanks for your understanding!

Most likely in a couple days' time! I still have to review each entry carefully and since I got my copy of the Resident Evil 4 remake yesterday, you can imagine I'm quite busy right now.

Congratulations to all the participants, this was a lot of fun! I just realize now that I didn't think of asking anyone whether I could post their runs here, since they were sent by PM, so I'll let you guys do it yourselves; this will be a great occasion to comment on the strategy you used. :D

I've just distributed the Tings to everyone, and I'll be in touch with the winners for the other prizes. :proud:

Well done guys! :teuf: Sorry I couldn't take part, but then I've never gotten 100k anyway so it might have ended in failure :oops2:

Gg everyone, and specially to EricZen, that time was simply savage :o

I guess most of the people would find more interesting to see the fastest run, but here are mines if you're curious... This was my first attempt (the way I'd normally play The Land of the Livid Dead), and this one was my fourth and last attempt. You can see in these videos that I don't even try those jumps timed with the Hoodlum shooting at Rayman (not very interesting if you want to speedrun), but maybe they will be useful for somebody who can't reach 100k points. To be honest I'm pretty happy with that 4th position, I thought it was gonna be worse. I had a lot of fun trying this challenge and I can't wait for the next one

GG to all participants ! This was a really fun challenge, mixing speedrunning and scoring was an awesome idea !
I made my run public if anyone is interested in seeing it :

The routing was really interesting to do, to help me with it I did a spreadsheet to calculate the combos easily and fast, and with it I came up with a route with a little under 2000 points of leeway in theory, you can see the spreadsheet here :
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... nNXenMhRYk

That allowed me to miss a few points here and there and still have a chance to reach 100k, which I think was nice since this challenge was limited in the time, I wanted to prioritise finishing runs rather than having a route where even missing a single gem would have rang the end of the run, and this would have probably only shaved a few more seconds anyway since most of the points I was getting were already in the way anyway.
And my route was still tight enough that messing up a medium combo was enough to make it pretty much a lost cause, which happened a bunch of times. In the end I was able to complete 8 valid runs with the 100k points, with the fastest one being the one aforementioned.

I'm quite satisfied with my run, I think the highlight of it would be getting the Grim Keeper shield jump in LOTLD2, it's a very precise trick that you only get one try at and nailing it is always very satisfying !
Unfortunately my LOTLD3 was a bit sloppy in many parts, as well as my Céloche fight, but it wasn't anything massive and it was still a very solid run overall, I think it could only have been about 15s faster realistically.
