Oh yeah it's nothing you should worry about!
Windows Defender tends to detect any unsigned executables as Wacatac and there's a 99% chance it is a false positive.. :mefiant:

If you still don't trust it you can scan it with Virustotal ;)

A virus that makes noseless Rayman appear on your screen at random sounds like a possibility, yes. :P

More seriously, I just watched your longplay and the game looks really hard! I felt sorry for you when you died mere metres away from the exit of level 3...

The troll-Murfy rank goes so well with that reply!

I can imagine Noseless Rayman constantly jump scaring you at random, and then you'll find out your browser's history has been flooded with searches about noses. :noel:

Thanks for watching! It really was a tough one and that one moment in level 3 made me so sad after tryharding this one for over an hour! :oops2:
Like before, it's way easier once you memorise the levels and learn how to distract Noseless Rayman to better get around him. The secret areas are also helpful as they contain a shortcut back to the main area (Level 4 having the best one as it drops you to the lowest floor near the exit).

Oh, and here's a "better" look at the secret Rayman 4 box in the game since I cut the part where I got it for the first time during my playthrough:

Happy late Halloween! The 2023 edition of my jump scare compilation is out, now being all about Noseless Rayman and even including the ReDesigner easter egg! :hinhinhin:

I've also included the various game over texts you get in Return to The Spooky Raymansion. Some of them are references:
-"TRY AGAIN" is most likely a throwback to the "Try Again!" game over from Rayman 2 The Great Escape.
-"GOT YOUR NOSE"... Don't think I need to explain that one. :noel:
-"YOU'RE ALREADY AWAKE", probably a reference to the fact this game takes place in Rayman's reality unlike the previous one and TSR2's Level X which were in some nightmares. That or it's a reference to a certain meme and Todd Howard tricked us into playing f*ck1ng Skyrim all over again. :hap:
-"CRUSH HIS BONES", a reference to some of Knaaren's lines in Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc.
-"I'M WAITING" which is a reference to one of Rayman's quotes in the PC version of Rayman 1 if you don't do anything for too long.
-"CARLA BREW STEW" sounds like a reference to Rayman's gibberish speech from some versions of Rayman 2... But I'm sure Carla knows how to brew some good stew. :P
-"01001110 01101111 01110011 01100101" binary code for "Nose", was also used as the preview title of this game's trailer.
-"LISTEN CLOSELY", "KEEP RUNNING", "TINGS GIVE YOU POWER", "FIND THEM", "40 IS THE MAGIC NUMBER", "HUNT DOWN POWERUPS", "KEEP TRYING", "TAKE IT EASY", "DON'T GIVE UP" don't seem to reference anything specifically besides trying to give you hints to beat the game.

Also, Ryemanni has just made a stream about the third game, confirming quite a few things such as Rayman being the protagonist in every game, and the third TSR being a nightmare (where Rayman was haunted by Noseless ever since he went into the mansion in TSR1), while Return to The Spooky Raymansion takes place in Rayman's real world.

Among other things, Ryemanni has also mentionned another reason for switching to Godot for this game, this being that making 3D games in Game Maker is hard.

Nice compilation, thanks for sharing! It's interesting to see the progression there, even though the most striking difference is clearly with the last one. Now I wonder what the future 2024 holds!

We’re gonna be laughing in 2044 at that “the future” pun :mwahaha:

Thanks for the compliments! :D
I've now released a first compilation of the failed attempts I've cut from the main playthrough.

And considering this is three h o u r s of just me failing in Level 1 and 2, I won't actually ask anyone to watch it (unless you really got nothing better to do with your time on this Earth or if you just love Noseless Rayman spooking you that much :hap: )!
It's just so I don't let the footage go to waste and so you can be truly aware of how much I've suffered going through this the first time. :noelnoir:

Also I don't know why, but YouTube's idiotic Content ID bot flagged about 15 seconds of the Tomb of the Ancients theme from Rayman 2 in this as a copyrighted random thing which gives me no relevant result when looking it up online...
And it did the same for the next part (which is online but not public yet), except it flagged this same music as another copyrighted content entirely (which also gives me no relevant results! 🙃), because this incredibly intelligent system is just that amazingly effective and consistent! :hap: :pascontent:

Between that and the times it detected some of Redemption's Picture City music in my Casual mode playthrough as a Spanish song thingy that came like 20 years after the original Rayman (makes perfect sense :noel: :mefiant: ), this is getting ridiculous!
Thankfully, I don't (and can't) monetise any of my stuff anyway so this doesn't matter and I don't care, but this is just so *s t u p i d* that I had to point it all out!...

EDIT: Here's the remaining part!

UPDATE: Version 1.0.0 of the game has been reuploaded for archiving purposes! https://archive.org/details/return-to-t ... sion-1.0.0

IT'S TIME. HAND OVER YOUR NOSES. 👀👀 👀 👀👀 👀👀

My stupid usual edit of the game (+ a no damage run on the boss) aside, Ryemanni has just done a dev stream of Return to The Spooky Raymansion on his Twitch channel, so we can expect his playthrough on YouTube pretty soon!
He said that he'll possibly show some unused stuff
(I came back late from my new job and so I didn't get to watch, so I'll have to rely on the YT video to tell you :oops2: ).

EDIT: Here's his YouTube playthrough!

Here's my summary:
-This is Ryemanni's personal favourite Noseless Rayman game (and 2 is his second, so it seems me and other players weren't alone in thinking 3 was a bit worse), and he said he hasn't decided yet if it will truly be the last one... 👀
-While the previous entries were always horror Pac-Man games, Return to The Spooky Raymansion is directly inspired by Dark Deception.
-You're safe in the secret areas once you get past the metal doors (far enough, there's a bit of a threshold near their entrance). Noseless Rayman will retreat to his spawn location, similarly to the first game.
-As told in the past, the game's maps were first built in Minecraft and converted to Blender (thanks to Mineways) and then Godot.
-Ryemanni acknowledges the second main level as the hardest/most confusing in the game due to its Backrooms-like design.
-If you missed a secret, you don't have to beat the stage again when you collect it, you can just exit the level.
-You can only reach the final level if you have all the secrets. If you don't, you'll get a bad ending at the end of Level 5 with the elevator going up instead, a Moonlit Swamp music from Rayman 3 playing and the following texts appearing: "In the end, I managed to escape. But at what cost? I found some tings, sure. But I did not find what I was looking for: My friend." Also, Level 5 won't have a completion star in this case, but will get one if you get the missing(s) secret(s) even without replaying the level, thus automatically unlocking Level 6.
-One of Noseless Rayman's edited voice samples is Rayman's drowning sound from Rayman 2.
-The Zombie Chicken attack music was considered for Level 5's chase, but Ryemanni ultimately decided the Rayman 3 rising lava theme was more fitting for this slower-paced chase.
-The Level 6's edge layout/wall texture is indeed straight from Spooky Raymansion 2's Level X. Ryemanni has confirmed this Level 6 takes place in Level X, except it's real instead of a nightmare here.
-The Shotgun is from Team Fortress 2 in this game.
-Undefeatable's lyrics do intentionnally fit Rayman and Noseless Rayman.
-There's a secret in the ending picture. If you really raise the brightness and look in the dark part, you can see the outline of Noseless Rayman's eyes and teeth staring at Rayman and Globox from the shadows... "The Noseless never dies" :hinhinhin:
-Noseless Rayman not disappearing from the title screen once the game is beaten isn't intentional, meaning this is most likely a glitch/oversight.
-You can see various assets and unused content at the end of the video, such as early hud sprites from before the Ting Finder was made (the power-ups icons should have been in a corner of the game's screen), early models (including an horribly bad/freaky Noseless head made from the Rayman 2 model...), test maps (including the Minecraft ones)...
-Early, you had just a flashlight instead of the Ting Finder. The remaining battery was still displayed on it.
-The Noseless Rayman 3D model was designed in Paint 3D by MarkProductions, and was originally just Rayman. Ryemanni chopped the nose off (the eyes were also colored blue before).
-Ryemanni is still so embarrassed about showing his code. :noel:
-Noseless always has two different spawning locations so he doesn't accidentally spawn on you.
-While you can't see his feet in-game, the chasing giant Noseless Rayman is performing a full crawling animation. Also the constant pounding noises he makes can be heard in Ryemanni's editor, which drove him crazy. :P
-Should there be a sequel ("but don't hold your breath" ), Ryemanni has said it would be in 3D again but with more realistic graphics, making the new game less "blocky". :hehe:

Maybe the Tomb of the Ancients problem is because of some sound sample? And can those not be appealed?

Sound sample issues are most likely, indeed.
Anyway I wouldn't even bother, I can't even monetize videos as I don't have enough subscribers yet, and I'd prefer to not collect any money from videos about fan games.

Oh yeah, I had the same problem when I made that video about the Rayman 2 prototype. I asked it to "remove" the offending clip, and what was left was still basically recognizable. Tbh I don't even know if it is a sample, it just sounds like generic droning… :boon:
