JK! Of course, this one ain't happening!... Wouldn't that be ironic if it somehow does happen in the future and then I'm pointed out for thinking that it would never happen?

I suppose fanon wikis do have some value in allowing the younger ones to express their creativity, but the problem is that I don't think anybody else actually reads them!

But of course, next year, we'll take it one step further - Rayfanpedia-pedia - a wiki about the fan wiki!

Actually three more... "bald Rayman", "Rayman's girlfriend" and "hair creatures".
(Gotta help Ubi have their own space for their fanfictions )

I can imagine a wiki just pointlessly explaining every page from another one and detailling their history of contributions!... And then another doing the same for this extra wiki, and so on for a total RayfanpediaCeption!

Indeed, and ever since I've accidentally laid eyes on a fanonwiki for Terraria (or something else I don't even remember), I've been avoiding them like the plague. It's just unappealing to me.
I don't really see the point of it being called a "wiki" if it's not gonna even document actual existing content... might as well make it something else. But hey, if it has value for anyone, then there's no harm in their existence.

Oh shoot, this gave me an idea… What if Ubi start consulting Rayfanpedia as well as RayWiki for lore now? I know they should be able to tell them apart, but it's not even clear if they realized that RayWiki itself was unofficial…

Well, didn't some people say they would be wise to draw inspiration from some of the cool fan games the community has come up with?

(just seeing the name gave me a gag reflex )

Guess we have a solution to make the cooler "modern" Rayman games canon now!
(and this is even more of a reason why we should be strict and careful about 12-year old tier fanfics being posted on Rayfanpedia )

Alright, I've been working on a fully dedicated "trailer" for the Rayfanpedia! I've released it as a first unlisted version so you can tell me what you think!
I'm not planning to do very big changes (don't have quite the time for it sadly), but any suggestions for improvements?
Tell me if you notice any mistakes (like "developpers" ). I can also easily change the music if it's not that fitting!

EDIT: Removed obsolete trailer. Final version is now available here.
(and yes, I just had to include a little "spook" again )

This will be most likely deleted later to be replaced by the final version, even if the only change is fixing a typo.

Nice trailer! I guess I'm officially part of the Rayfanpedia team according to it .

I originally wanted to make some graphics that could be used for promotional content, however I don't think I will be able to do that any time soon .

Thanks! Well you did make the main logo for one thing, that alone is enough in my book to be counted as part of the team!
But maybe I could change it to something like "thanks" or "credits", as "team" could imply a active role for everyone I suppose (I'm not even that much of a contributor right now myself ).

I'll gladly look at what you can produce if you do make some material when you'll be able to in the future!
But don't worry if you can't or if you eventually lose the drive to do so, there's no rush and no obligations!


Deadline for feedback is until tomorrow night when I'll release the final video (unless it needs a *huge* update)!...
Or if enough of you consider it "perfect" enough before the end of today, that'll be in just a few hours, that's up to you!

A few other things I would change in the text:
Maybe "longest-lived Rayman community" instead of "longest-running"?
I would remove "the" from "the Rayfanpedia" and "the RayWiki"
I would say "Read all there is to know" (rather than "all there's to know")
I would say "official content […] gets its own articles" instead of "get their own" since content is singular
And "with links to RayWiki" instead of "with linking"
When you say "can become exceptions" – maybe reformulate the sentence? Something like "Exceptions can be made for other content which achieves enough relevance"

I like it a lot, great job! In addition to PluM's suggestions, I would also increase the length of the section explaining it's not a fanon wiki as people might need more time to read it all.

I've just implemented all the suggested changes + a few minor adjustments!
Albeit I had to change the "not fanonwiki" text's font to the Rayman 3 one so it could actually fit (but it's an improvement IMO as the previous version taking up the *whole* screen was kind of ugly).
Overall duration has increased from 1:53 to 1:58!

It should probably release in a few hours... so if anyone still has anything to say, say it now!

Well, I'm still seeing the old video in your previous post, but I'm sure the final version is going to look great.

I also ran into a terrible family situation today right as I started making more improvements I realized I could have made, so about two hours of my day ended up robbed away and the Rayfanpedia had to wait a bit more...
Welp, I may not feel I’m at my best right now, but the work is done!... At least I got the username change now, so that’s a little comfort for today! Thank you so much for dealing with the name change for me!

At least today was a better day... but I'm sure there's plenty more darkness to come in that tunnel...

I’ve got a question. Are we allowed to contribute sound work on the wiki? Things such as original songs, or audio dramas, I mean.

It's kind of OK right now, but it's definitely not the kind of atmosphere you would want or expect during the end of the year's holiday celebrations... The new year is going to be rough, but we'll power through it as much as possible.

Ah, I didn't thought of that... Personally, I don't think individual songs would be worth documenting unless it's a full-on album, but audio dramas series could be OK I suppose (dunno, I'm not familiar with that format ).
But it's not up to me alone to decide what should be included or not, so I'll let my "colleagues" express their views on that idea!
