The TSR is supposed to support every version, so this is not a valid solution. But I realize now that you need to make sure the videos are installed on your hard drive, otherwise it can't circumvent the DRM. That's all you need to do. :oops2: I guess I should spell that out in the docs, because I honestly never gave it much thought (since I always install the videos without thinking too much).
Well, you were right… restoring the backup of the 1.00 VHD and installing the videos solved it. Who would have thought that simply mentioning that would lead to the solution? I understand that under normal logic everyone would just do the full installation, but as I mentioned before, for some reason the installer wasn’t reading the CD and was triggering the “trial version” message even though it was properly installed and mounted. This is actually an error https://sourceforge.net/p/dosbox/bugs/497/#0358 in DOSBox and sometimes happens there as well.

The thing is, I deleted it and installed it in another folder (rayman2), and since I was just testing, I chose the minimal installation to save time. Because it worked on the first try, I never opened the setup again heheh :P . Plus, you also save time when loading the game file since you don’t have to skip the intro videos.

Like I said, this game just like to troll :rigolo2: … I also remember when I was a kid the CD drive (D:) broke but the DVD drive (E:) still worked. You could load the game and everything, but since it was looking for the disc in D:, it wouldn’t launch even if the CD was in E: (and I think even installing it from there didn’t make it recognize it). I was so frustrated by that, I went years without playing it because of those silly issues haha.

Anyway, I’m sending you a warm greeting. I hope to finish the game in the next few days to commemorate its 30th anniversary, and what better way to do it than using one of these patches made with so much care, especially since it brings back such great memories for all of us :coeur: .

Best regards.

Version 3.2.1 has now been released to address the concerns raised above :)

EDIT: Do not use version 3.2.1, I messed up a calculation resulting in undefined behaviour / crashes! :oops2:
Use version 3.2.2 instead: https://github.com/PluMGMK/rayman-tpls- ... tag/v3.2.2
