As for Rayman, I'm thinking of a writing contest? I'm not sure how that would work, but writing is also an artistic expression, isn't it?

How about a quiz for Pirate Community trivia?

Personally, I feel like anything RPC specific should be left for RD and RPC's own anniversary (not that I'm slapping down that suggestion, it's a solid one), this is more an anniversary of the Rayman series.

So as it stands, I think the list of proposals are as follows:

• Rayman 1 theme + PFPs
• Speedray feat. Rayman 1
• Speedray Fiesta, all games, EXTREME prizes. Potentially mini-RD event?
• General Game Challenges
• Revival of the Challenge of the Month thread
• Rayman 3 low-score challenge, in the vein suggested by (I think?) iHeckler
• Art Competition
• Writing Contest
• Community Quiz

Reckon we should put up a poll on this thread?

Now there's a potential idea, I think we've had contests in the past for setting up banners for the site, could that potentially be an event? A competition for site banner or other site assets for an anniversary theme?

Probably, though I think we should probably see what the mods think in terms of viability, we can have all the ideas we want but there's also the matter of actually running the events, and that'll be down to the mods to set up and run. As such, I feel like we should probably get some moderator input to rule out anything that isn't possible first before we try to setup a poll. But that's just my two cents.

We've got about 4 months to figure and set things up though, so probably shouldn't shuffle our feet too much all the same eh?

It's now June and there's not really been much further feedback on this. Seeing as we've now got about 3 months to go and we already know there's other anniversary events are in the pipeline (stuff relating Rayman Alive), and I know Edge has started his own event. With that in mind should we try and actually take a look at the list of suggestions I compiled up in my last post and start kicking stuff off if we're wanting to get something in place in time for the event?

3 months sounds like a lot, but time flies, and it feels like despite the enthusiasm professed in this thread, we aren't making much progress into setting something up.

I think the 10th one would be good because me and Jonster are arguing about the community knowledge and it could prove to see who is truly more intelligent historywise.

Of the ideas shown here, I like #2, #5, #9, and #10 best.

As for other ideas, maybe we could have a level-making contest in Rayman Redesigner? People could make a level with that, and the best three win some prizes? Just a thought.

I'm of the opinion if there is a quiz it should be Rayman-focused, this is meant to be a celebration of the series, not RPC, that sorta thing might fit better for when we hit an RPC milestone.

Rayman Redesigner quiz also sounds like a good idea, I'll add it to the list. It might be worth seeing if members can volunteer running certain events if mods can't oversee them.

Well i already put my art contest lol! Maybe we should make a topic just for this? like an index of the threads for the annavesiry and such?

I think if we can agree on what events we want to run then yeah a central thread or stickying/announcing the event threads sounds like a good idea.

Yep! We just need approval from the mods now!

My thoughts on this list:

1.Creating a Rayman 1 theme for the event would be nice. Hey maybe we could do what we did the previous 2 christmas' and make our own custom Rayman 1 avatars!
2. There hasn't been a Speedray contest as of yet this year, so having it on the date of Rayman's 30th would be an idea! But since Hunch is the one who hosts those, let's leave that up to him.
3. Ironically, COTM is currently hanging on a Rayman 1 challenge
4. I agree with Master, this is not a celebration for RPC, this is a celebration for Rayman's 30th, the community quiz is unnecessary at this time.

At this point, I think we should focus on the ideas proposed instead of thinking about another ones. I'll share my thoughts about the list.

• Speedray feat. Rayman 1 Another excellent idea. In the last couple of years it was hosted before summer, but that doesn't mean it can't be hosted on September! Let Hunch cook
• Speedray Fiesta, all games, EXTREME prizes. Potentially mini-RD event? SpeedRay Fiesta? iirc there was a SpeedRay featuring the main games. I'd focus on Rayman 1.
• General Game Challenges The Challenge of the Month exists for a reason. We should focus on reviving the topic.
• Revival of the Challenge of the Month thread Hell yeah.
• Rayman 3 low-score challenge, in the vein suggested by (I think?) iHeckler Not a big fan of this kind of challenge if you ask me about it.
• Art Competition Edge created a topic about this. Along with the contest for the theme assets (and maybe letting people editing their own PFPs like we do for Christmas season) it should be fine.
• Writing Contest Not sure how would it work, but it could be an interesting experiment...
• Community Quiz Definitely not. Maybe for Record Day, this is about Rayman.
• Rayman Redesigner level-making contest Maybe we should bring people from Discord? I don't see it as a bad idea though.

I could also host the writing contest!

My pitch is that every contestant writes about their experience with the Rayman series and how it has changed them? Idk what do yall think?
