Yeah true, it's weird that nothing crazily villainous was done with Mr. Dark, honestly. Makes me wonder if he was gonna be, but Ubisoft dialed it waaaay back lol

Right?? It really feels like a huge missed opportunity. I think when they scrapped the 2D version of Rayman 2 and pivoted to 3D, they just totally abandoned his lore in favor of Razorbeard and the space pirates. And then by the time Origins rolled around, they just made the Magician a Mr. Dark fanboy instead of actually bringing the real guy back! So weird.

I know I had Mr Dark and Razorbeard team up when I wrote my Rayman comic back in 2001, but it's been a while since then and I think it would be more interesting to see some antagonism between them. Sure, they might need to join forces to get rid of Rayman, but in the end, they don't really plan on sharing the power, do they?

I think what I'll do is this: They join up as partners at first, but then as the story of Rayman 2 progresses and their plans are put to the test, both start not seeing eye to eye on how to be rid of Rayman as their plans fail and then their partnership falls apart after one final argument before the Razorbeard/Grolgoth fight, as Mr. Dark thinks a robot can't stop Rayman, but Razorbeard insists the Grolgoth can and will kill Rayman for good.

Mr. Dark appears one final time as Razorbeard is in his escape pod of sorts (which Mr. Dark somehow finds and I will tell of how XD) and basically gives Razorbeard a lecture that basically says "I told you so!" and of course, the two argue again...

Feel free to give feedback on this as this is not set in stone yet.

This sounds like a great plan! It adds some really interesting conflict to the story. I think having them break up right before the Grolgoth fight raises the stakes. It makes Rayman's victory feel more deserved since the bad guys were too busy fighting each other to focus properly. Looking forward to seeing how you write that final scene!

Thank you very much!! I will deffo take this into consideration for the final scene (in this case - chapter lol) in the Rayman 2 era of the fic! Glad you enjoyed that lil tidbit (even if there's no dialogue yet XD)

This is such a charming and creative rewrite for Globox! I love the backstory about him being an aspiring artist and it's really touching how you described him looking after Rayman like a younger sibling, which fits his character perfectly. Thanks for sharing this fun take on everyone's favorite big, blue frog friend!

Thank you so much, and you're super welcome!! I always thought Globox would love to draw and have a bit of a fun job (and hobby) on the side, he even lets his 650 kiddos try it out! I also loved combining both his Rayman 2 and Rayman Origins/Legends designs together into one big blue froggy friend!! The scarf he wears was given to him by Rayman as well!! He adores Rayman and makes sure that his bestie turned adoptive brother is doing very well, and continues to do so even when he's not under an adventurous mindset!

Yes, the detail about his 650 children is so sweet. You really captured the heart of their friendship so perfectly. Keep up the amazing work!

In the rewrite, yes, I decided to change stuff up, cuz it's weird that Globox just appeared out of nowhere and I'm like, "Okay so Ubisoft states Rayman and Globox have known each other since before Rayman 2, but Globox was created by Polokus and just... existed as a grown frog, so how in the world does this work if he knew Rayman since before Rayman 2, yet he doesn't exist in Rayman 1? How far back do they know each other?"

It's just confusing and I couldn't really be like, "Okay this works I guess" when in reality it's like, "...Huh?"

So for the rewrite, yes, the Knowledge of the World lied to you as instead Skipper and Daisy (I know they don't use the -ox and -ette suffixes and I have my reasons) were created by Polokus XD Sorry about that, Hunch :'D
