You sound very optimistic here. Our current understanding of the human brain is ridiculous. Sure, we have some superficial knowledge about it, but nothing that can help us understand how those chemical reactions grant us our intelligence.

My dad showed me a video of a robot one of his colleagues is working on. I can't show you the vid right now, but I'll ask my dad if he can give me the link. That robot was doing all sorts of cool things. First of all it was walking at a steady march, in place. Then it started doing some weird lunges and bench-presses and a few push-ups too. The future of war: no bloodshed for us!
Of course, the ultimate future of war should be 'no, don't do it, you morons', but we're talking about robots here, not ethics.

I hope that if robots were to become smarter than we are, they would somehow still be respectful to us, even though we'd be inferior. I mean, there's no racial nonsense, financial extortion or self-uplifting ideas in a robot's mind, so no rotten human inequality thought patterns should come across their 'synapses'. Then again, they might just think we're taking up their space and dispose of us - I hope to be among the generation of robots that still respects its creators and also all life around itself. I'd actually like to see what a robot friend would be like - I guess it would feel nothing like a human friend; I don't know what it is, but there's always something about another human's presence that makes being around them in person a lot nicer than for example chatting with them or communicating over the phone (or even videochat for that matter). I believe robots might not have that same vibe around them, though I may be wrong.

I don't think they would ever look at us as a "waste of space," considering their intelligence. If we wouldn't do that, they certainly wouldn't... and in my view these robots would only be a bit smarter than humans.

I think having a robot friend would be jut as responsive and as lively as a human; after all, we are merely advanced robots ourselves.

You seem to think that robots and humans will be two completely distinct species that co-exist with one another. I find this highly unlikely. It will become more and more difficult to draw the line between the two. What about artificial intelligences based on human brains? What about humans with computerised brain implants? These already exist, and they’ll only improve as the years go by.

Of course they would only be slightly smarter than humans – at first. After that they would continue to improve the same way all information technology does.
