The Valley... It's beeaaaaauuuutiful! Especially when it's not under attack and stuff! :U And I can see the 6 'worlds'!
Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
You might as well forget the whole topic. I don't think this is ever going to work. This has basically ruined my day.
Unless anyone has any advice which will be of any help (and I highly doubt it), I'm sorry for having raised anyone's hopes of seeing this game. I don't know what is going wrong

Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
Is the setup not working in your OS or something?
Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
Oh wow, finally someone got the hands in the CP game. I had knowledge about its existence but there was no much information about the game itself in the internet. Thanks a bunch, Electoon!

Have you tried to use the compactibility mode of Windows? It might help if you do that into the setup file and executable file.Electoon wrote:You might as well forget the whole topic. I don't think this is ever going to work. This has basically ruined my day.

I tried that and it didn't make a difference, even after uninstalling the copy that was created without compatibility mode and reinstalling it again.Haruka wrote: Have you tried to use the compactibility mode of Windows? It might help if you do that into the setup file and executable file.
It didn't work in Windows 7, XP or 98. Should I try 1.0Cairnie wrote:Is the setup not working in your OS or something?

Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
Or maybe win95, if you can set up a VMWare of it or something? That's about all I can think of when it comes to really old PC games.
Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
I used Virtual Machine to get to Windows 98, but I really doubt 95 would make a difference. I could try it though, because I'm that desperate (and wasted that much money and people's attention to get this far)Cairnie wrote:Or maybe win95, if you can set up a VMWare of it or something? Every time I run it with the BIN file it makes a complaint about the CD-Rom not being there, and if it is it either pretends to load (complete with beautiful CD-drive grinding) and does nothing or crashes, or in the case of 98, gets as far as a black screen and then crashes the virtual computer.
But hey, the manual's pretty interesting I guess

Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
I've tried to install the game on my laptop computer, but I have the same problem than Electoon. It didn't work with Windows 7 or the compactibility mode.
But the game always works on my two old computers, that use Windows 98 and XP.
I don't know if I can make myself useful...

Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
Maybe this means it's my copy of the game, because I can't get it to work in 98 or XP. That being said, I used a virtual 98 machine, and haven't actually tried in XP with the real disk, so maybe...boomboleros7 wrote:I've tried to install the game on my laptop computer, but I have the same problem than Electoon. Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
Would you mind sharing the ISO of the game disc? I could test in my computer to see if I could boot it.
Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
It's a BIN file rather then a ISO, so I'm assuming you have programs that can run both. The only problem is finding upload space, but I'll be happy to do so after I've tried a couple of other things (I would like to try using the actual CD with an XP machine, although this means temporarily removing the computer's storm protection (bin bags and towelsHaruka wrote:Would you mind sharing the ISO of the game disc? Wish me luck! (With the XP thing, not the other one
Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
I wish you the best of luck, Electoon! I know technological things like these can be tricky, and you definitely know more about it than I do!
Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
And hey if it doesn't work I could always scan in the manual and share it here. It may not be as interesting as seeing the actual game but it has blue and white pictures and (French) descriptions of every single activity along with some other oddities
Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
Cool! Educational spinoff oddities can be quite surprising, as we learned from the description of the Magician on that old French Rayman Junior site.Electoon wrote:And hey if it doesn't work I could always scan in the manual and share it here. This will be interesting. I'll definitely give it a try!
As far as I know, any programmes that can mount ISO files can just as well mount BINs. After all, BINs are fairly common.

Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
The manual seemed to have the some of the same character descriptions, although they may be re-worded slightly to fit in more with the activity centre game (The Magician's description on the website was clearly talking about Rayman Junior for instance). I might have to look into that...THEdragon wrote:...as we learned from the description of the Magician on that old French Rayman Junior site.

I see. My guess is that the same characters from Activity Centre return, Betilla, the Magician, Rayman, the Clown, and Joe the cricket, yes?Electoon wrote:The manual seemed to have the some of the same character descriptions, although they may be re-worded slightly to fit in more with the activity centre game (The Magician's description on the website was clearly talking about Rayman Junior for instance). Also, I personally think Joe looks more like a grasshopper than a cricket. Juuuuuusssst sayin'!
Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
Yep, and also the Monk as described on the website, as he teaches you about musical instruments in this gameTHEdragon wrote: I see. My guess is that the same characters from Activity Centre return, Betilla, the Magician, Rayman, the Clown, and Joe the cricket, yes?

Everyone seems to be disagreed on what the Band Land bugs are, it's even inconstant in the games what they are! I believe Cricket is probably correct, as their chirping could be described as musical, fitting in with the music theme. But whatever, crickets and grasshoppers are partly related after all.
Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
The peaceful and mysterious Monk? Ah, I just saw that description on the wiki page. Hmmm. Isn't the Monk the only character in Rayman 1 with knees? So if you need somewhere to aim an arrow...
Re: Rayman Accompagnement Scolaire - CP
Now lets not get started with that again! ;P
Looking at the manual again. I love how the whole game is set in Aeropolis (well, at-least the world maps..). It also has a large, new picture of the 'clown in love'. Makes it a shame that it doesn't have colour print...
EDIT: The game has multiple sing along songs like the Betilla one in Activity Centre, only with lyrics at the bottom of the screen. The example picture shows the clown singing about his fiancée. Heh, I guess they're engaged now
