Well, having reading in this forum words like fuck or others, i think they say gender for vary (always saying sex, sex, sex is boring

It first troubled me when I encountered it in Pokémon Gold and Silver. Game Freak most likely used it to avoid getting in trouble with puritans. I prefer ‘sex’.

It is strange, knowing that in Portugal is asked mostly "sex" than "gender".
