Big Bump. I felt that I needed to post an update, so here it is.
But why type anything if no words are enough to describe this picture?

This is just to demonstrate the new lighting engine. It's beautiful, it looks a lot better than the previous one, AND, it makes the game run about 6FPS faster. :P

Oooh, 200th post! ^^

Thanks! :)

And no, of course not, it's just the suit he's wearing at the beginning of the game... Oh, and let's not forget the green eyes. ^^

He looks more 'evil' because he's still on Mr. Dark's side.

Mr. Dark needs more henchman, and that ninja dude with the blond ponytail will do nicely. :hinhinhin:

What kind of lighting engine are you using now? :P I really do like the bloom kind of effect that's showing on the character.

And I like the mask. :P XD

It's Adventus L3S. It's very slow with shadows, but it goes a lot faster than some other lighting engines when shadows are disabled... ;)

And thanks for liking the mask! XD

Oh yes, I have seen that before. :D

Are you finding it useful for your outdoor areas?

Very, very useful! =D
The lums look a lot better with it as well.

I'm still using my own shortened/simplified/optimized version of SHS Lighting, though I am actually a little limited with the outdoors. Phoenixan's got a few tricks within his coat with it. ;P

Not to mention, I did add in my own culling code to get a frame rate boost, just like GearGOD's engines and Adventus'.

Great news! =D

I am finally able to run my own game at full speed ( a constant 60FPS, even a room that used to run at 10FPS now runs at 60FPS )! ^^
Why? Well, it's all thanks to my old computer. Guess what? The motherboard was broken! :confus:
That's why we decided to buy a new one, with a great graphics card and with Vista 64bit.
Gamemaker works perfectly in 64bit ( except for some unreadable text ), and the games it makes still work as fine as they worked in 32bit, maybe even better.

This also means that I will be able to record VIDEOS of my game ( the game ran too slow for that on my previous computer ), which I will certainly do - once the first level and the intro are ready! =D

It's really amazing how it runs in full speed now... I'm so happy! ^^

Ooh, and it's also quite amazing how my computer can run Super Paper Mario ( on a Wii emulator ) at full speed, with no crashes! =D

I think I fell in love with this machine.

 That is the most outrageously awesome thing I have ever heard. Really.

Can you play Gamecube games on it?

The unreadable text is mostly just because of Vista's GUI and text AA methods. It's really a pain in-game though. I actually ended up just going for sprite-based fonts because of how god-awful it looks at low resolutions.

You bet you can! Check this out if you want to know more.
Oh, and I'm further in the game now, and it still runs at full speed ( 60FPS ), sometimes a little less, but not less than 50FPS. ;)
It is a little annoying that sometimes, nothing happens when you buy something though ( game keeps running, everything keeps moving, but you can't move XD ).

I haven't noticed anything at all in-game. That might be because I'm using a sprite-based font too though. :P

I know about Dolphin, I have it already myself

But I'm only at about 40% in the R3 GC torrent I'm downloading, so I haven't tried it yet. :mefiant:

Ah, R3 GC! I had an ISO for that too, I think. I'll try that one out tomorrow.

Anyway, here are two previews of the first level. :D

I won't give any hints at what it is just yet. ;)

Umm... no. XD

EDIT -> Oh! I have found my R3 GC ISO. Let's try that, and then I'll try R2 on DC.
EDIT 2 -> Ah no! It's R3 for PS2! -_-

Is it some sort of building? :P
I'd guess some sort of HQ for the villain?
