What on earth is that first screenshot?
That's what you see in the title screen and other menu screens .

I was able to finish the game using Project 64 without this last issue, but I never got around to playing the PC version.
I didn't know about Project 64, did you download it from this website?

Yes, that's where I downloaded it.
Thanks for replying, btw do you know what happens if you select "Portable Mode" when intalling it? Does it mean that you don't give the program administrative permissions?

No problem!
I didn't know what it was intended to be, but I looked this up, and apparently it's mobile because you can put Project 64 on a USB and run the software from another computer due to the lack of AppData and registry usage.

Thanks for the info, I've tried Project 64 and it is better than the previous 2 emulators that I've tried, it has less technical problems and more configuration options to play with.
Edit: the only bad thing is waiting for that message to disappear when you open the program, however I think someone found a way to skip that.

That tomato stuck in the well is quite something, did you end up having to restart?

No, fortunately I was able to kill the tomato by smashing it from above with the pogo stick, which was really weird since you normally don't use that move to kill enemies.

This is starting to sound like the beginning of a creepypasta

Maybe the tomatos behaving in weird ways and blocking your way could be a follow up to this. There are other aspects of the game that could be creepypasta material, for example, the fact that the helling guards are just "big skins full of hot air" (according to the manual), the Pharmacist who wants to give all living things a "transformation" and there is that WIP teaser that was kind of creepy.

Now you're giving me the idea of creating an eyeless version of that tomato in a similar fashion to the infamous eyeless Rayman.

Maybe something like this?

It's deliciously creepy! Just be careful, because this is what your game will look like the next time you open it.

So Elite, have you dared opening your game since Humch made that strange prophesy?

Unfortunately, or fortunately?

Unfortunately.
Sometimes it is interesting to see glitches and other weirdness in games as long as it doesn't stop you from having a good time.

I remember being scared as a kid when Jano's theme played during the first Mini Jano fight on one of my many playthroughs, since on every occasion before that, it had glitched and kept playing the normal spooky background music. But I think the reason was that I had just been thinking that that music would be more appropriate, and I was crept out that the game seemed to have read my mind!

What could explain that the correct music wouldn't play at first, though?

The trigger to play the Jano music is really glitchy and hit-and-miss, basically. I once guessed that it only triggers if Rayman lands on the platform in some defined way, and Ad agreed I was probably right. Of course, now that Raymap is a thing, I could probably find out the exact reason!

A video by Hard4Games about the differences between the prototype and the retail version (N64). I had no idea about the chef with the flamethrower and that cutscene where a coffin eats Ed (min. 7:52). I wonder what is worse, the piano from Super Mario 64 or this coffin.
