Is it time to start this thread up again?

If anyone has any suggestions, then sure!

Sure... Just dropping a few examples
I'll be editing the post as other box arts come to my mind.

No problem. We'll get one going from the suggestions after I get back from the store.
EDIT: I went with Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for now, since it actually had never been done. The suggestions above though can be kept in mind for after this poll is complete.

The PAL box art is the one I've always seen, but not gonna lie, I prefer Sonic's design in the Japanese version. I'll vote for this one

I love the US box art, it's kinda goody but it's fun

It gives so many 90s vibes... It's a cool one of course.
Btw, weren't the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog released about a year after Sonic 2? Am I the only one who saw those TV series?

I've always tended towards the Japanese design for Classic Sonic, nothing against the US version, I just never liked the way his quills looked. My vote is for JP Box Art.

Oh, that’s why I thought the US designs of Sonic and Tails looked familiar!
I’m pretty indifferent when it comes to Sonic’s design here. But I’m going to go with Japanese as well since I much prefer Tails’ design there.

So it seems we have a clear winner! The Japanese box art was the favourite one for most of you
Winner: NTSC-J (80%)
Now, it's time to vote for another box art. This one is from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which curiously was the most successful Zelda game in the PAL region back in its time. As you can see, we have a couple of box arts for this particular game... Which one do you like the most? You can start voting now

Think I'm gonna tend towards the European box art this time, I feel it's more representative of the game itself in regards to tone and one of the main mechanics.

I guess I am the only one who prefers the US box art, I feel so alone

America's proud of you boi
I have the feeling I'll be the only one voting for the Japanese box art this time. I'm used to see the European one and it's a cool one, but Link's drawing in the Japanese version is amazing

My vote has just gotta go towards the European version for Twilight Princess. It's just such a notorious design that I have fond memories of growing up with.

Poll #28 is over! 3/4 votes went for the PAL version. It seems I was the weirdo this time

.
For poll #29 I'm doing this one as the franchise also had a huge leak a few weeks ago. You can see the PAL version of GTA 3 and the NTSC-U version, which is basically very similar to what we have nowadays. Why did it change? Initially, the NTSC-U version was supposed to have the same box art, but it was changed after the terrorists attacks in New York. The game was also modified, so you can't fly a plane in Liberty City (not even in GTA 4, released on PS3 7 years after 9/11).
Which one do you prefer?

I think for this one I would have to go with the PAL version. It's the one I'm most familiar with and I just prefer it. I like how the NTSC one looks too for its own reasons though.
I also didn't know about that being the reason for removing planes, since even San Andreas had them. I suppose that it being Liberty City made it very different though.

Think I'd have to go for NTSC, I'm not really a GTA fan, but that aesthetic they had there in that boxart carried on for a reason - it's iconic and they've rightly made it the style that represents any mainline GTA game since.

Forgot to mention it, but the box art was changed in the NTSC-U version because of the explosions

. I personally like the PAL version, but the NTSC one is simply unique and you can immediately identify one of these games with the box art. It's so special that
it was even parodied in other games

Flying planes can be fun, but I think it's pretty obvious what the people are going to do if they include planes in Liberty City. There were some files in GTA 4 which included some planes, but they were finally cut from the final game.

No doubt that the box art is special and I guess it's more consistent that the NTSC one matches what the rest of the GTA games had, but I just found the PAL one memorable I guess, due to the fact that I grew up with that one.
