Looks like the Rayman X/Twitter account decided to give us the Grand Minimus bio a day early! Seems like they're referring to his name as that of a singular person rather than as a title.

This is cracking me up. Between the weird teeth, the giant bug eyes, and the fact that you can see the weird default world that this model seems to be sitting in being reflected in his eyes (is that a white cube and a sun?)

Awwww... doesn't he look adorable. The disgustingly hyper realistic teeth, the long fingers and the cold pitch-black eyes that makes it look like it would maul you the second you look at it. It's enough to make a grown man weep. /J

Wow, I hadn't even noticed the reflection in his eyes until you pointed it out! That is pretty hilarious, it looks like someone forgot to bake the proper environment reflection maps before pushing out the official promo render.

Between those uncanny chompers, the default skybox reflections, and the weird lore rewrite about all Teensies suddenly having shamanic powers, I'm feeling less and less hopeful about the new direction...

Now I don't know if this is real, but just in case I put the names of any characters not appearing in the footage so far in spoilers.
As for my thoughts on it:
Looking at how "The Magician" and "Orb" (likely the cloaked "new villain" who holds an "orb" - or perhaps a disembodied voice coming from the orb itself) share the same voice actor, it seems we're getting Ales Mansay all over again. I have no idea who Allain Allure is. As for Mr Soccer, that sounds like an announcer/commentator for Kung Foot Evo.

Yeah, "The Magician" is what they are calling the new villain. I don't know the reason for that, but I really hope it doesn't have anything to do with the character from Rayman 1.

Oh no... Are you saying that the cloaked figure is called "The Magician", and this name doesn't belong to the Dark Teensy, which is also in the game? I thought this would make sense if they had turned all the Dark Teensy clones into 1 character, the Magician from Origins... but if it's not that, then we now have RO Magician clones and an entirely different character named The Magician in the game? Will the confusion ever end?

Like Rayman's bio, it's not breaking any new ground, but it's good to see him again. His calm and wise demeanor combined with his design and sense of humor feel like they've finally merged the Rayman 2 and Rayman Origins depictions of Polokus together in harmony.

You can't hide more Barbara info from us forever, Ubisoft!

My current theory is that the villain is the Magician from Rayman 1, who has been corrupted by the evil magic coming from the orb.
Hence the purple eyes the character has, much like what we see on the dragon & toad bosses.
The corruption is a way for them to explain the personality shift: the character is actually good, and we will turn him back to his original R1 self at the end of the game. The real villain corrupting the Magician and giving him orders through the orb is either Mr Dark or an unknown character to set up the future of the franchise.

As for the dark teensies (including the one from Origins) - they're the corrupted Magician's servants.
The reason why I think the Magician has to be the character from Rayman 1 is because they added Betilla into this story. She has no role in the original Rayman Legends, so why did they add her? The biggest reason I can think of is that she's there as a counterpart for the Magician, who was often depicted alongside her in Rayman 1 and its spinoffs. That makes a lot of sense, and in fact, if he was indeed corrupted, I wouldn't mind the idea at all, since that wouldn't make him an actual bad guy. You just made me slightly more excited and hopeful about the game's story!

Wait hang on a second. I didn't notice this before watching the videos but doesn't Polokus look more human-like?

Also this bio doesn't even mention his original name they just called him "Bubble Dreamer".
