Origins was designed with Origins' mechanics and artwork in mind. If you want to play Origins, I say play Origins, not Legends' rendition.

Well obviously that's what I do, but my Legends playthroughs include BTO, complete with its mutilated continuity, in order to 100% the game.

It is a little bizarre playing BTO and noticing the little nuances with the physics between Origins and Legends. More obvious is the reduction in difficulty.

The Sanctuary of Stone and Fire is my favourite level!
I love exploring all the different temples and I find it absolutely awesome when it all culminates in the descent of a Purple Lum into the chamber where Umber is sleeping, with this music. That's probably my favourite moment from all the games I've played.

And in the ps1 and ps2 versions, theres a walking shell part, and these parts were TERRIBLE in those versions!!!

It's the plum that ruins the level for me!

The shell part is in the original too (but optional).
And yes, the plum is a bit awkward, I'll admit. It's not too bad though.

I wanted to throw my ps3 controller at that part (but not really...)

This level was what made me stopped playing Rayman 2. It's so boring. Personally, the worst Rayman level in the entire franchise. If I was held hostage and had the choice to either play this level or get my arm chopped off, I'd give them both my arms. Fuck this level and its music (which was also boring).
And also screw you guys, Gourmand Land was the best world in Origins. It had the best music (Land a Chef/Glacier Cocktail, Firey Suspense, and Inside the Dragon's Belly) and it was the most visual pleasing world. I agree some of the Glacier Cocktail were boring (mostly Fickle Fruit), but the Infernal Kitchens were so much fun. But I do agree, Skyward Sonata and Wind or Lose were boring. I wished there were more levels designed like Best Original Score and High Voltage in their respected worlds.

Funny how you hate what I love in R2 but have basically the same preferences as I do in Origins.

Hmm, Gourmand Land's a bit 50:50 for my tastes, I'm not so fond of the arctic-sprinkled-with-fruit look of the upper area, but I do like the subterranean kitchens.

See, because RO is the more enjoyable game. Rayman Origins: Best Game Evar

You telling me you don't enjoy the chill, icy calmness of a glacier? Have a little drink with a cute little umbrella and just relax. The upper world just has that nice clam feeling is what I'm trying to say. Especially with the music it plays makes it all the more relaxing.

Well, to me it seems everything in the icy world is in some way irritated, whereas you have some nice smiley characters down in the kitchens. Though I do agree that the music from the start is lovely and calm. (Still prefer the mariachi though! EDIT: Wait that is mariachi isn't it? Okay, forget I said anything. )

I can't stress enough how much the track below represents the nostalgia of Origins for me. I swear I have this track more than 400 times.
Also, look at this chill dragon. Not everything is irritated in the Glacier Cocktails, mon ami.

Maybe because it's very similar to the one used on the loading screens? But actually, I kind of agree with you.

I felt like Gourmand Land was visually the most likable area of the game. Especially during my second run I had notably more fun with it. Really the only problem I think there is, is that the ideas don't always manage to keep things interesting throughout the entire time. The medditeranean environment was a great, sudden change in environment, but I couldn't help but feel like once the excitement of that wears off, the gameplay doesn't offer a whole lot to keep me going. Not saying it's bad, I generally really like the gameplay, but I felt like there was room left for improvement.
It's kind of a problem I have with Origins overall. Especially the Sea of Serendipity felt like a great idea but not really capable of keeping the excitement going all the way. I remember when the second set of levels opened up I was actually kinda turned off by the idea of having to complete even more levels of that type.

You uneducated dumpling! The loading screen is based of this track!
