Rayman had always been "silly and cartoony" and if anything we need more 2D games like that in this day and age. :P

If it doesn't get put out on PC then Dolphin will have to be the best best for recording stuff from it I guess. Unless I can get a new laptop and HD recording cards etc.

Are Dolphin has good emulation?? There a lot of lags and bugs :( My computer can't launch even PS2 games on fullspeed =/ to buy console in this case better and probably cheaper then upgrade PC.

Waiting here! http://e3.gamespot.com/press-conference ... index.html

I think the 3D will make Rayman Origins panel/layer gameplay incredibly effective as you will be able to judge the distance.
The 3DS is in no way capable of running XBOX360 or PS3 games. The NGP is more powerful than the 3DS and even it has no chance of running games to the standard of the HD consoles. The only reason Origins has a chance is because it's a simple engine designed from the ground up to be scalable.
I never said the 3DS is capable of HD. What I meant is that it is capable to hold the size of games that both those consoles are capable of, and maintain a fairly similar comparison graphics-wise. http://uk.ds.ign.com/articles/112/1124739p1.html
But yeah since RO is of a simple engine design, it might still look beautiful, even on a smaller screen.

Personally, I don't see the big deal in amazing graphics anyway. It's the gameplay that impresses me in the end, and I've got high hopes for RO. :P

I really do hope RO is also for the 3DS.They only announced it was also for the Wii cause it got leaked. If they're making it for the 3DS they're really keeping it hush-hush.

Thanks, I may just do that.
Haruka wrote:I actually don't like when people start complaining about Rayman's design and about him (or the rest) looking "silly" (Especially fans that got shocked about this and start to do too much quick conclusions, YouTube comments are a great example). Several months back I've debated about this issue, and I think it was a smart choice making Rayman with R3 design. Who said the game would just be for kids only? Most of the veteran Rayman fans here in the forum are in average, pre- young adults.
I don't know, but I've seen many interviews with Ancel where he's said that this new game has been designed mainly with kids in mind. Although at the same time, he has also said that it contains quite a few nods to the first game and that it would be something that would appeal greatly to fans of the first game. I'll be honest, I was never a fan of Rayman in 3D. The second game (and third) was good, don't get me wrong, but for me it never came remotely close to matching the original. And yes, perhaps 'silly' was the wrong word to describe my initial impression of 'Origins'. At the end of the day, it looks VERY similar to the first game, it has the same number of levels, it features enemies from the first games and you can rescue Electoons again. That, for me, is the Rayman game that I never thought I'd ever see again.

Is it just me, or have they brought back the level from the 2D beta version of Rayman 2 that was playable at the end of Rayman 2? Some of the screenshots seem to show a grassy area with waterfalls and lakes in the background, which looks very similar to the beta level. I absolutely adored that level and hoped that one day we might get to see what the rest of the game would have been like.

But anyway, I'm a 21 year old male and will happily admit to being a huge fan of Rayman, Oddworld, Crash Bandicoot (first two games) and even Bomberman. I'm also a big fan of Kula World. The early to mid 90's spawned so many great games, I'm just glad that I never sold my original Playsation console, as I still play all of them today.

I wouldn't because I'd have to wake up the next day at 6:00 AM ( thanks to the school, which starts at 8:00 AM). If it were Friday or Saturday, I'd most definitely watch it.
Besides, even if I wanted to watch it that late, I'd have a really hard time with my parents for at least a month...

I also have got school in the next day, I wake up at 7:00h in Tuesdays. Fortuneatly the schedule of the E3 is compactible, otherwise I had to do a little sacrifice.

10:30 GMT isn't that late for me actually so depending on whether or not I'll be bored out of my skull I'll probably watch it this time. Didn't get to last year and couldn't catch up until after work because I was too busy in the morning dealing with...personal body problems...

PS somebody on NEOGAF reckons there might be a PC release according to a retail sheet
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=432442

again let's just wait till E3 is done.

That means that I'll have to rely on what you'll report after the conference, Stacey and Haruka (and more users who will most likely be watching it), so I'm counting on you!

I hope this will be confirmed at E3! (the PC version)
That would be awesome!

Baha, the list says that it will be for sale from 31/12/11... Wow... And for 89,95... What currency is it?

I confirmed that the currency shown in the paper is the American Dollar.

The convertion to the Euro gave me: 61.4664€ (61,47€ then)

This means that in British Pounds it gives aproximately: 54.7491£ (54,75£ then)

Very close to my initial prediction of the price of the PC version: 60€.

It is a potential rumour, I hope it is true. E3 is just around the corner!
