MandM: It took some practice but when I played FC last time I was able to combo it pretty regularly. Of course, it often fails. I got it quite often because after the combo I was pretty nervous and blew the extended dawrves combo afterwards, which made me restart part 2. I think it won't be a problem for me to combo it again. I never got it for 1000 points in combo though, because last time I didn't consider the possibility of taking 2 of the red gems early. But as one takes the matuvus from the same position, it shouldn't be much harder.

I still have no idea how to get if for 1250 anyway

You can find Hunchman's description here: viewtopic.php?t=4986&start=340

Just scroll down and read his posts.

DTUCC: I will look into the 1.250 combo thing when I return to FC. There's something I need to check out first. I believe you can increase your score significantly by playing the 1.000 points combo, or even the 750 points combo. Will you go for that?

Last time I played FC I actually used the 750 points combo. As I have to take two red gems early in order to get 1000 combo points for the matuvus that makes an improvement of 140 points for me. Everything except for that matuvus, the 4th matuvus in part 3 and the tribelle combo in part 4 was played perfectly during my last run, as far as I remember. I don't want to play the extended combo for the 4th matuvus in part 3 more than once anyway which is the reason why I want to work out a full solution for FC before playing it again.

Also, I believe I MIGHT get 20 points out of the fairy combo but I'm not quite sure about that.

So actually, you have at least an idea of how to combo the matuvus in part 2 for 1.250 points, right? I'm not quite sure about that anymore.. :P

I'm not sure if it is helpful to discuss combos I haven't tried out or made work yet, but anyway here goes. I have been wondering about two combos in the room where the Matuvu is located. The first one involves the Matuvu for 750 points, but taken at the same place where one usually gets it for 250 points. One can start with the gems on the Trampolines and work oneself up to the broken bridge by taking the gems on the ledge, fall down and get the three gems on the Mushrooms and continue with the two gems at the upper level before coming to the two gems on the broken bridge. One has 13 gems before the Matuvu. The good thing with this combo is that it is easy to get the Matuvu in combo, and one can continue the combo with the gems below, saving the red gems for last. The downside is, that it is horribly difficult to get from the two gems after the Mushroom to the first gem on the bridge. I have tried running and rolling many times, and a few times I was one nanosecond away from continuing the combo, but so far no luck. I grew tired of the many restarts and the long movie at the beginning of the part, so I have left it for later.

You have mentioned yourself the 1.000 points combo, which is the one I have succeeded with once. As for the 1.250 points combo, well, it is like the first combo above, I need just a few more nanoseconds to continue the combo from one group of yellow gems to another. And that is what I wanted to try out if it were indeed possible. I haven't made that work either. And furthermore, one has to use the third yellow gem on the wooden bridge near the entrance to combo the Matuvu with. I guess you use the first one on that bridge for your 750 points combo, right? Try to see if you can do it with the third one. It's beyond hell.

By the way, have you made a video of your 750 points combo?

And how big is your Fairy combo?

I'll take a look at part 2 right now. Anyway, I'm not quite sure how you want to get from the trampolines to that ledge with the three yellow gems... However, I'm not quite sure if I understood everything right in the beginning.

(EDIT: I'm looking at that area right now and it's absolutely clear to me how you want to get from the trampolines to the ledge. However, I don't understand how you can get from the two gems on the bridge to the place where you get the matuvus for 250. Is there any special trick or something? I can't imagine how you manage to be even less than a second away from it.)

I'm using the 2nd yellow gem on the broken bridge in order to get the matuvus in combo. I know that the third will be hell to use.

I haven't made a video so far as I want to make a complete solution as soon as the 1.250 combo for that matuvus is developed. The rest is perfectly planned out already.

I don't remember how big my fairy combo is but I can take everything in the room in a single combo, starting with the fairy above the three trampolines. From there I fall down to a lone yellow gem, kill the slapdash, get the vortext and the yellow gems on the mushrooms. Then, I lower the two mushrooms and while getting the gem on the first one I charge a fist. Then I beat those enemy-thingies (whatever name they have), run up the stairs to the next fairy and jump to the right and get the fairy which your solution takes right after entering the room. From there I roll down to the right and get André out of the hole.

As said, I'm going to make a video of the whole FC as soon as I worked out the matuvus in part 2

I'm actually making videos as well as I get along. I'll try to make videos of all combos, with the Matuvu Combo in part 2 as the last one. It will be on a revisit.

It will be fun to compare scores and videos when we're done. :D

Edit: I strafe past the second of the two yellow gems after the Mushrooms. Then I run like hell towards the first gem on the bridge, taking this second yellow gem as late as possible. Then I make a daring roll towards the first gem there when near the bridge. It looks impossible, but a few times I must have rolled the right way because I came damn close to continuing the combo.

okay, that combo was exactly what I needed. I worked out a route for the combo. Getting to those two gems on the broken bridge is indeed hell. However, it looks possible to me. Needs a lot of work, though, but if I manage to reach those two gems in time, I should be able to get the matuvus as the 22nd element of the combo.

I'll start playing FC as soon as I got that combo to work. This is so much more fun than SBTC...

If you can take the Matuvu after the second yellow gem on the lower bridge, shouldn't you be able to take it for 1250 by starting at the furthest and highest point (one o'clock to the entrance) and continuing to the ground floor?

Haruka: Nice scores so far. I'd suggest you to improve DOTK. If you know all the secrets and play decent combos you should reach 85k+.
It was interesting reading through the page, and I'll try those combos soon. The problem is, I just can't find my old Save Game with 838k, the only one I have after some searching is one with 813k.
I have some decent scores there like 42k in FC or max in TOTL or LOTLD, but I don't have 109k in SBTC, neither the max in HH or CF.
My thoughts are, I'll investigate a bit in FC, and then go for max in HH. What do you think?

Oh man, I just read a bit through the topic. It was so much active at the beginning, and really fun to discuss and share ideas. It's a shame to see the activity has reduced so much, but maybe we can get it really active again, like if we can motivate more members to play Rayman 3 and we at least keep up the current boom.
Anyway, like said, I started playing CF. The first three parts went smoothly, I just thought Part 4 would take me ages to complete, but I only needed 1 hour. Thus, I boosted up my score from 813k to 817k and got the maximum score in CF (109.789) :D
I think I might give the HH a try next for 109.009.

Well done. Too bad you've lostyour savegame, though...

No progress with the matuvus in part 2 so far. I still believe it's possible anyway.

Haruka: I think CF, TDOTK or TTOTL would be the levels where you could most easily get better scores. And they're all great fun. If you look at the walkthroughs on page 1 in this thread there are videos that cover most of the elaborate combos. At least they could give you some ideas about how you want to play.

Mostwanted: Well done :partyhat:

It has indeed been quiet here for some time and for various reasons. I think many of the "old" guard are busy with college and whatnot, so the playing is restricted to holidays. It would be cool if new players would join this forum. I just wonder when Xenon will fire up his remote once more and go for TLOTLD.

DTUCC: The Matuvu in part 2 is without question a challenge. What was your score after part 2 with the 750 points combo?

School has indeed been my reason for not playing, combined with a lack of motivation that came from being the only one playing. But now as I see that others are starting again as well, it's much more fun to go for that green gem in the snowboarding level. And as I finally know a way that might let me get the matuvus in part 2 of FC for 1250 combo points I'm even more motivated to finish SBTC... :P

My score was 3670, I think. I'm not entirely sure. But it definitely was 3600-ish.
