happy new year
if anyone cares, I succesfully completed HH Part 1 some days ago with 26.000+
however, i can't really feel the motivation to work further on it, as I've barely anyone to compete with.
I know, I could use this situtation to work on my total score while the others are not playing (or are they just not posting?) and investigate in other levels, which I'll probably do, but I'm not really up to it without competition
I'm not looking forward to get you to play like hell, as I won't have so much time, as school starts again and will keep me busy and I also want to spend time with friends, family and so on. Just to remind you not to lose the game out of your sight (if you haven't already done).

This Sunday I will try to grab the game again, I couldn't play it on the last week.

I think i know how to trigger the splashdash in part 2 of "The fairy council" for PC players

You'll need to run the game as an administrator. I had never seen the splashdash before doing this, so i think this is the way to trigger the splashdash.

Then how come it never happens in XP?

It happens in Windows Vista, that's for sure, right ?
It just happens here when i run the game as administrator. I don't know if that also happens for other people.

Does that glitch works on Windows XP?

I don't think it does, as I've played the game on an XP system, as an administrator (I think), and no such Slapdash appeared.

Because I'm the admnistrator of my own computer, and no such thing happened to me.

Well, I own two copies, so I guess it'd be legal.

I'm playing LOTLD at the moment and a weird thing happened in part 2. It has never happened during "normal" play. I was aiming to practise a combo later on in that part and therefore I quickly killed off all the Hoodlums in the first area without touching the balloons or getting any of the gems. Then I used the Lockjaw and the Hook to get to the balloons in order to get the Vortex. After lowering the Mushroom I went to the upper level and much to my surprise I saw two Hoodblasters leaping out in front of the secret room. I know this happens on PC, but it was a first for me (on X-Box). Furthermore, there was a mysterious shadow cirkling around the area, which was also the first time I saw that. Anyway
here it is.
I tried to repeat what I did when I restarted the game, but the two Hoodblasters didn't show up anymore. Does anyone know what is going on and how to summon these Hoodblasters? And what's with this shadow? I notice the Hoodlum ship is missing by the way.
Edit: Xenon isn't it about time you replay LOTLD? By the way, I had a look at HoF. Your score seems to be missing again. Will you re-enter it so the list is more accurate?

I've witnessed that glitch before but I've never seen the weird flying object circling around the place. I guess it's what's left of that Hoodlum balloon. I seem to remember using those pre-established Hoodblasters to my advantage, in creating a decent combo that alleviates the difficulty in the original version. Can't remember how though.
About TLOTLD... to be honest I'm unsure when I'll start replaying this level. The world is easy enough in itself and I can make a hefty score improvement, but I'm seriously lacking in the motivation department.

If the hoodlum balloon isn't there, does it magically appear in the bit after the Hoodoo?

Yeah, the balloon ship does, or did, appear after the Hoodoo.
Xenon: Sounds reasonable enough that the shadow somehow is the remains of the ship. I just wonder whether this shadow has something to do with the appearance of the two Hoodblasters. I have only seen them once and I have no idea how to make them appear.
I can also follow your lack of motivation. I was lucky to find some motivation in the last part of the holiday, probably due to half a year of forced leave of absence from the game. So I fully enjoyed finally being able to play LOTLD and get these extra 1.500 points.
I have re-written part 2 and part 5 in the walkthrough on page 1 to suit the new demands. Also I have made five new videos for these parts. I'll post one of them here as it's quite fun and yields a lot of points. It is a version of how to combo the Matuvu and the Tribelle in part 2 for 2.500 points each. With this combo, one can make some mistakes in the long and arduous part 3. Here goes:
The Matuvu - Tribelle Combo
The combo is worth 6.580 points in total.
I remember sfn mentioning he had done this combo once, but I think he played it differently. My version is not hard.

MandM:
Well done, man. I knew that you would catch up on me quite fast, but I hadn't expected it to be that fast
May I ask, where does that massive improvement come from?
I might remember incorrectly, but I think I made sure that my lead was big enough so that LOTLD alone wasn't enough

Anyway, that's what I needed to find some motivation again. I just don't feel like playing when I'm first in the HoF
Congrats from me. I'm curious about your level scores, though...

Thanks! Well, most of the improvement came from FC where I now have a healthy bit more than 46k points. I didn't have enough time in the holiday to work with all parts, so I will return to FC and finish the job later. I will make videos when I return, so we can compare scores and combos by then. I expect you will play FC again anyway.
But before I return to FC I want to play some other levels where I will test some new ideas. SBTC is one of those levels of course.

You didn't think I'd let you have it that easily, did you?
Establishing the club of 47K in FC
For the first time in ages I feel like having achieved something really exceptional in this game.
Oh, and by the way, if we don't manage to improve the matuvus in part 2, this should be the maximum. At least I believe that I maxed out every other room in FC.
Anyway, there still seems to be a level where I'm really far behind you. LS, i guess... My score there is 42.860, what is yours?
Don't know if I can force myself to play LS, though...

Jeez, one can’t be gone for long. At the moment I'm away on a seminar and I haven’t played the game for quite a while. I will be back in a week so this is just a short notice.
First of all, congratulations with you new score, well done!
What was your score after part2?
Edit: I'm still away on the seminar, but if you want my input on the Matuvu in part 2 it would be easier if you tell me how much you get from it. You worked on 1.250 combo points, did you get that? Or did you get it for 1.000 points? Or did you settle for your already acquired score of 750 points? If you want to keep the way you get it secret from me it's ok, just mention the score.
As for my score in LS, I don't have it present. I have written it down several times in this thread though, so you can find it there.
