The music is amazing Rayfan! :D
I was never really a person who liked fan games of any sort but I can't help but love this project.

Thank you too!

I'll probably be uploading a small gameplay video in the next week.

And just because it was on the edge of the page:

And here's Betina (rushed) and Flips (not to scale)! Just cause:

Now the soundtrack. Like I said previously, some of the songs have light and strong reminisces of other Rayman songs. The last track I put three solid days of work into. DES, GET YOUR ****** OVER HERE. ;)

1. "Fort Night: Beach Scavenger Hunt" - 0:00
2. "The Dream Forest: The Great Hall" - 2:03
3. "The Dream Forest: Chamber of the Great Protoon" - 3:57
4. "Canyon of the Lost: Shadowed Sea Serpent" - 7:09
5. "Aeropolis: Down Town" - 8:14
6. "The Billowing Dunes: Toasty Sunset" - 10:35
7. "Picture City: The Black Sea" - 11:50

1. "Fort Night: Beach Scavenger Hunt" : That tune reminds me a bit of Hall of the Mountain King. It quite gives a feeling of suspicion and insecurity.
2. "The Dream Forest: The Great Hall" : That track is quite unoriginal... however, as an ambiance track it does the job. It fits the Dream Forest, feels cold and distant.
3. "The Dream Forest: Chamber of the Great Protoon" : Oppressive track. What is going on in that chamber ? o: Quite like it, very nice bass. Drums might be a bit too loud though.
4. "Canyon of the Lost: Shadowed Sea Serpent" : Great intro ! Well what follows great too. Too bad it's so short, one of your best tracks so far ! I think you should make it way longer, and use that melody at 7:41 some more times.
5. "Aeropolis: Down Town" : Feels aerial indeed. There shouldn't be any drums at the beginning, not until 8:43, it'd be better if it just started with the bass. I also love the flutes around 9:19. On the other hand I'm not fond of the piano that comes at 9:39... it'd be better if you replaced it with those flutes. The ending is also great, though you should let that final note float a bit. But I love that track.
6. "The Billowing Dunes: Toasty Sunset" : Great intro too. The rest sounds a bit empty though, but that totally fits a desert so it's good.
7. "Picture City: The Black Sea" : Not much to say about that one, sounds nice.

An excellent set !

Well, I am still lingering on that thought. As CryEngine doesn't work on my PC it is already quite unattractive for me. And because it is hell slow at my friend's house, where it does work, I am yet to be impressed by it. The interface seemed sucky and I have no clue how it would actually work as an engine - but then again I haven't at all experimented with it, so I wouldn't really know.

Great music, Rayfan! The first one reminded me of the Canopy's music, though a little less 'swingy', if you know what I mean - more on the beat than the Canopy was, and I kind of miss that in it, but that's just me. The fourth one definately has a Marshes of Awakening theme in that very beginning, though quite sped up. Then it sounds kind of... well, I can only describe it with 'Nosferatu'... XD
Around 10:20 the music reminded me strongly of something we did for a musical play as a closing act for the primary school... creepily a lot of similarity there. The rest of the track was nice though.
Maybe for the desert theme you should use the initial synthesizer as that windy effect, but in the rest of the track maybe you should use deep strings. I'm not sure, but I think that would make it sound nicer.
The Picture City one is definately ace. Reminds me a lot of the Rayman 1 Picture City themes as well.

I like the map you did. I also must ask you where you got the font! ME WANTZ RAYMAN 2 FONTS FUR REEEAL. :P
Nice character drawings, too!

I doubt it, this game is set in an in-between point from Rayman 1 and 2, and gameplay-wise, it would probably be similar to Rayman 2, maybe with Rayman 1 elements put in.

Thanks buds! :)

@Shroob:
Good point about the strings, I like it. As for the Rayman 2 font, I'll send it to you tomorrow. And on the CryEngine thing, it's mostly a "different" UI, partly due to it's real-timeliness. It's fully functional.

@Master4lyf1:
That's exactly correct.

I'm also improving the gameplay faction a lot. I've fixed an issue where he couldn't turn, though it still doesn't function as I'd like it to. I can't seem to figure out how to make him turn in the direction he's running. It's like I have to force his model to rotate manually, which obviously isn't very practical.

I have an two more questions.

1: Will there be an underwater level?

2: Why isn't The Shutter Cave on the first page?

Underwater level would be fun.
I watched the tech demo from CryEngine on your channel. Then I remembered that this game uses this source. Then... sɐʍ sıɥʇ ɔıdǝ ʍoɥ ǝʞɐʇ ʇ,uplnoɔ ʇı ǝsnɐɔǝq pǝɹoɹɹıɯ puɐ uʍop ǝpısdn ʇuǝʍ ʇxǝʇ ʎɯ

2: Good question. I added it after the last time I updated the page. I still want to put more thought into it before I put a description, because as of now, I have none.

Haha, really? That's what I always said toward MastahRay (my drawing influence). I've always liked to draw (ever since I was a toddler), and my technique slowly picked up over time. then from when I was about 9 til I was 11, I didn't draw much, then when I came back I was acceptable (I was pretty terrible before then), and my best drawing at the time was this:

Image

Since then I'd been slowly drawing more and more, but then I took a break from when I was 12.5 til I was 15, and now I have what I have today, also slowly improving. I'm one of those people who, after taking a break, come back better than ever. I'm not sure why people are like that. Maybe it's a fresh breath, forgetting bad habits?

That picture there was actually part of my FanFic, "Dark Rayman & The Apocalypse" I wrote about half of when I was 12, then never finished it. It was almost a novel adaption of ROTD here, though with a different progression. Before then, I, from when I was 8 til I was 11, drew out a full lengthy game on about 300 pages in about 5 different sketch books called "Rayman & Moskito," which also followed the same basic idea of Dark Rayman coming back because he was never destroyed. Just for the heck of it I may dig it out.

I also created a full Rayman 2 comic in four parts (mask wise) at around the same time. I may upload that as well at some point. :P Wow! I forgot all about these things.

EDIT:

After browsing through my old stuff, I've decided I'm going to continue my fanfic for the first time in four years (I did though stick in one chapter some time about two years ago)

Ha ha, when I was little I created 64 of my own magazines that contained comics and puzzles. I don't think I ever took them with me to America. This a shame.
