Could you also share the manual pictures to us too? It might have quite interesting images like in the DC's NTSC-J R2TGE. I also would like to ask permission to after I record any footage from the japanese R1.

Is there anyway to get Rayman1 to play on Win7 & Mac OS X?
I've been having nostalgia attacks for some reason....

Download D-Fend Reloaded emulator and configure it. It will run Rayman 1.

Grazie.

OK here is an IMG file. I had to use megaupload due to filesize limits and all that bull. Now I must give you some important information.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FP59XPMW
You will need a Japanese PS1 BIOS [SCPH1000] which can be found here: http://dragonballarena.gamesurf.it/engl ... hi/psx.php
This needs to go into the BIOS folder of ePSXe and then chosen with the BIOS option. THEN you can run the game using the mooby plugin. It might not come up straight away and if you try skipping the intro it may seem to freeze, but the game works very fine, so don't be alarmed.
The only differences I've noticed so far are that there is less text on screen and some of the sound effects are different. I may well fiddle with it some more during this week.

Thank you very much Stace.
Am I authorized to record any footage from the ROM?

Anyone's allowed to do whatever so...
gonna scan the manual a bit later though it's not as interesting as Japanese Rayman 2 Dreamcast.

It's more or less like the western manuals no?
EDIT: Indeed there are different sound effects. Like the Tings and the Grimace.

Thanks again. The manual is quite different from the western one, but nothing special actually.

For some reason Japanese manuals in general are rarely ever in black and white; and I should think the manual for the Saturn version would be the same. This also doesn't have a cover sheet like the European ones do and it's in a normal CD case which is nice.

...execpt the worldmap screenshots. On Page
005 -> In Band Land you can choose your own way shortly after "Bongo Hills" (in the us/european version you can choose your way after Alegro Presto).
009 -> This is even more intressting. You have earlier access to Picture City, Cake etc.

And that pirate in Picture City? It also isn't in the PC version of Rayman 1, if I remember correctly. Well, it is, but only as boss (with Space Mama and that ship).
