I have to say the only people that would know, are people like me because of the sound.

I'll let you in on a little secret. The real GBA is 59.73Hz, since most monitors and TV's are 60Hz (59.94Hz) the emulator is sped up to 59.94Hz meaning the game is just a fraction faster and the sound is just slightly higher pitched too. I can tell pitch difference from a mile away

Still though it doesn't matter if you use an emulator, it makes the video clearer basically. Just thought I'd share that bit of trivia with you

THAT would explain why every time I play a game on a GBA emulator, the pitch seemed higher. I have to say, I thought it was just my imagination too. The sound I picked up on right away, the Hz I wouldn't have picked up so easily,

I have to say you wouldn't notice it as it's 0.21fps in the difference. But yeah that's why the sound is higher.

Also TV shows are 24fps and because PAL is 50Hz, they speed them up to 25fps to match the framerate, resulting in drastically higher pitched sound that's just a bit short of a semitone up. I think it's around 73 or 79 cents if I recall correctly but a semitone is 100 cents.

Oh yeah, I have to say I also noticed the change of pitch in between shows/movies that were released in the US and those in Europe, whcih again, your explanation explains a lot.

I have to say in your case a European show playing in US would be lower instead.
