+ Good luck with that!
Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day
The Tomb of the Ancients may be scary for you.
-/+ But the Pirate Army fight After that is a lot worse so kudos to you on that.

- Oh yeah, the Pirate Army fight seemed like it just never wanted to end because it's so long! It killed my left thumb on my first playthrough.
+ Surprisingly though, on my second playthrough, it didn't.

+ EDIT: Thanks R4Y too.

+ Experience does help a lot!
+ Might do some R3 downtime to take a break from all these recording failures.

+ What helps more is that if you have played the Space Invaders Arcade Video Game before, then the Pirate Army is a synch Since it is a Parody of that classic game. The Jonster wrote:+ Experience does help a lot!

Touché
+ I think my body’s become so used to this wacko wake-up schedule that I don’t feel so sleepy or tired anymore after a couple of hours of feeling like crap

I wouldn't recommend stretching to full screen otherwise the game will look really stretched horizontally. I would use integer scale and use the highest multiplier that fits on screen however the stretching is up to you. You have to change the aspect ratio from core provided to custom then change the resolution. I Highly recommend integer scaling though because that way it will have no problem scaling properly. The Jonster wrote:- The PSX core that did work has the resolution on a fixed setting so I can’t stretch to fill screen when o try full screen.

+ I’m glad you’re having fun!
+ I don’t feel like shit anymore but I’m still going to nap to feel completely refreshed.
Ok I’ll look into it when I get up.Steo wrote:I wouldn't recommend stretching to full screen otherwise the game will look really stretched horizontally. Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day
+ I agree with Steo there. Stretching the game to full screen will only make the game look really stretched out and ugly. I would recommend using 4:3 as the aspect ratio since that's the original aspect ratio for most old games. As for modern games though, I would recommend widescreen.
+ But the choice is yours of course.

Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day
+ Yeah just as Aaron said I would use 4:3 on a game that was designed that way but the choice is yours, it's similar to playing an older Game Boy game in a GBA and having the stretch option.
+ Also the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2 supports 16:9

Re: Pluses (+) and minuses (−) of this day
– I would never stretch games designed for 4:3 ratio to 16:9. It makes things look fat.
+ I still use a 5:4 (1280x1024) monitor
– I do find it a bit limiting sometimes

Thanks all for the advice.Fifo wrote:– I would never stretch games designed for 4:3 ratio to 16:9. It makes things look fat.

+ I'm going to give it a go today then!
+ I wanna play R3 again, though, so I'll be spedning some time on that, too!
Edit: I forgot to mention the version I am using is PCSX-rearmed, since neither of the Beetle PSX cores I downloaded are running the games. I don't think this particular core I'm using doesn't let me change the resolution, period, but I guess I'll just roll with that.
Hm, it appears Bandicam doesn't lock on to this when I click-game recording. Guess that comes down to plain rectangular screen

+ I actually have a spare Dell monitor too that's 1280x1024 but I use my 1920x1080 144Hz monitor because why not
+ Yeah that's why I got a new TV. You probably remember the Rayman 1 picture I sent you where it was really stretched.
+ Widescreen patches like Better Rayman 3 or the hex edit I done is different because it's not stretching the image but instead adding more to the field of view on both sides

+ Omg!
- For some reason my N64 cores don't seem to work with the game files I'm using.
- I have a lot more testing to do today.
