Mewtwo is one of the few Pokémon that is a defined character in the Pokémon anime universe. In the Pokémon games, the only real characters are the humans themselves. But the anime makes some Pokémon more loveable (Ash's Pikachu and Charizard, the Charizard in Pokémon: The Origin, Mewtwo in the movies, the Jigglypuff that pops up in the series, etc). There's also the fact that he simply made it into the series, and wasn't a clone, so having him suddenly leave in Brawl feels like we lost something of value. Meanwhile, new clones like Lucina are being shoehorned in, who add little to the game. Also, he's pretty fun in Project M.

In any case, I'm more inclined to believe Rayman might be playable after all, due to that person saying so. It's not the first time Nintendo employees have been mixing up what's publicly known and what isn't, in relation to Smash 4. During the recent Comic-Con stream, three near-leaks happened.

Ugh, Mewtwo doesn't seem that great. Anyways, I really hope Rayman is playable. Not only would it make the game more awesome for Rayman fans but also awesome for Rayman himself.

I want Joe the E.T. for Smash Bros 4/5/whatever number this one is.

If Rayman becomes playable, it would be nice if there were assist trophy about another rayman character.
