Go fuck yourself, Dandy.
I'm waiting for the game. I'll give it more than a chance. I'll play through it fully, the mobile games have proven to be excellent.

Great discussion everyone.
Anyways I'd be a little more interested in Adventures if it came to consoles as sort of an 'add on' for Rayman Legends.

I like that idea more, though it's unlikely for Legends to get DLC now. Though, I'm fine with the mobile game. But if you want a good discussion, we can discuss how great Barbara is.

Barbara would make a great background character.

She's technically Asterix with the smile of Michael Strahan and tits. Three things that bring me joy. And yet, whenever I had the opportunity to play as her or one of her siblings, I passed. But to be honest, I also passed on the Roymanz and Glowbax recolorings. It is too much to ask of a Rayman game to actually stick with Rayman as the protagonist?
And let's not even mention the teensies...

I would like to think that the iOS/Android games are just a fashion. They can't replace "real" home console/PC videogames.
I'd hate to be dramatic all over again, but it's no longer about what can or can't replace something in the eyes of the crowd.
It's all about what is profitable and the less risky from a financial standing point, so if the mobile stuff sells, prepare yourself for a swarm of mobile stuff incoming.
This is the only thing I'm afraid of. It did happen with Sonic and seeing how things are going now with this game here and now, I'd say that it already happened with Rayman as well.
I just...can't appreciate these games too much. I play video games for experience, during my own free time and not between two lectures or on the metro, but even if so, if I'm thinking about Rayman, the word "experience" comes more into my mind rather than the "Plants vs. Zombies"-esque "time killer game thing".
For the record, the only "time killer game thing" I've ever played on my Android was PvZ indeed. xD

Really liking the look of the game. More games in the style of Origins/Legends is always a good thing. Though I'm still around halfway through Fiesta Run.

It's still beats being a forgotten character like the Musician, Joe, and all those other losers from Rayman 1.

No, it's not. Origins and Legends are killing the series and this is proof.

In my original post I explained how easy and obvious it could be to embrace a new direction while still keeping the UbiArt Glade. There's absolutely no reason Rayman has to stay Mario level neutral in order to remain easy to work with and easy to try new things with.
It's on page 9 of this thread, and I'm honestly interested in how you'd view that kind of direction. I know you dislike applying story and lore and whatever to Rayman when it comes in the way it did with R2/R3, but what harm would there be in establishing actual character development, making us learn a bit more about life in the Glade, and allowing an occasional moment to tone down the constant wacky? As long as there's a good writer behind that shit, it could be a saving grace for Rayman.
With two console games and three mobile game, it's inevitable that people will grow bored regardless of how good or bad it is. No one fucking laughs at a toilet paper joke after their 5th Rabbid game because it's the same shit with new gimmicks.
GNineify wrote:You put it best. It's become really common these days for modern cartoons to have more complex and layered (but by no means confusingly complex) plots and characterization the longer they run because writers and artists are being given more creative freedom, so I'm still hoping to see this happening with the Rayman universe as well. Obviously the plot doesn't have to be some incredibly moving, Oscar winning story, but I still want to have at least a some kind of a reason to why I am happily jumping around and beating up enemies. The Glade has so much potential, but Ubisoft only thinks about what makes money and I doubt they're going to cater solely to some forum on the Internet any time soon.
Yeah, exactly. UbiArt Rayman 3 can totally keep up what it's established and been doing, all while evolving things too. I think maybe RPC tends to be a little too harsh with it's criticism regarding what Legends actually added to the series, because it's just your usual sequel and it did well at being that, but it should be considered obvious that a new game is willing to evolve and expand once more, and I'm all for them taking a peek at some cartoons.

Everyone will
hate me for this, mostly ignore me, but I actually like this game and I'm hyped for it. My
only complaint is that I don't like playing games with smartphones that much, my fingers get really sore. Maybe I should get one of those smartphone controllers?

Of course I'd like a 3D Rayman for consoles better than a 2D mobile game, but I can't see any sign that this game is going to be bad. I'll still buy it, even though I never play games on my phone, and hopefully one day they'll make a Rayman 4.

I think Keane put it best. I don't mind UbiArt sticking around, but I do fear its stagnation over time.

Well, to be fair, it's already the case. Origins, Jungle Run, Legends and Fiesta Run are extremely similar to each other, and I can understand that someone people are getting bored already. But well, even that Rayman is better than no Rayman.

Yeah the CGI model isn't very good. But, better than others rendition of the Rayman Origins/Rayman Legends model.
I think as a mobile game it'll be very good. In a way, I'm happy it isn't for consoles. Not the same improvement from Origins to Legends, it's the same style.

Thats Right! The CGI models is nightmare. Seriously Rayman 3, 2, M got better models even ROTD got better models.

CGI models aren't that bad. They are the same used in E3 2013 epic trailer of Rayman Legends.
