If by designers we're talking about people who merely sketch out what the customer wants and hand it to a building organisation then it's a different story. There's not going to be much room for imagination.

If however, we're talking about proper designers who test new creative ideas and then hand it to a building organisation (and/or customer, business whatever) for approval, the operation is fully self-styled. This is the way most designing companies work, as far as I'm aware.

When I did my art and design course, I found that design was some of the hardest things I had to do. We had to design a carton for a juice drink aimed for 18-30 year olds, and the way I see it now it's just important to do your research otherwise you are struggling like fuck. Same for when I had to design a fancy egg box, and pretty much everything else I did in Design & Technology [like my horrid old Carmen the Whale plush thing aarrgh].

No sadder than someone who made a Kermit the Frog one in Textiles. xP But yeah it came out like it'd been chewed up by a dog, complete with felt and marker eyes. God my fangirling was hardcore back then.

We have German and French. You can also take another language for GCSE but the school won’t teach. You either need a tutor or to already know the language

English is the most studied language here, but I gotta say that most that you learn is pretty useless. To be honest, I learnt more from Internet and videogames (specially Red Dead Redemption and GTA).
French had more relevance 40-50 years ago, and now it's just optional. When I was in high-school, I always chose IT instead of French as I found IT extremely easy for me. Probably the only time I saw something new for me there was when we learnt some basics of Java programming. I remember some basics, like the while or do-while loops, but I forgot almost everything as I haven't used it for years
I would like to learn some French. Valencian should make it easier for me as there are some things which are a bit similar, but I can't find the proper time to start learning it. Sometimes I surprisingly understand most of the things people write (even if I don't know most of the words, there are some which are similar to Valencian and I can get what they're saying) and I can write very, very simple things, but that's all

I guess it's fine to get some knowledge, but honestly I'm not really into learning a dead language at my age :fou:
French would probably be a great choice, but to be honest, I am incredibly tired after work and the last thing I would do is to learn a language. I should have done this when I had more free time

I can understand most of the words when I read it as there are some similar words in Valencian and I can write a few, very basic sentences, but that's all. I can't speak it and I miss most of the information when I listen to it. If I write something here, it's because I'm very sure I'm not gonna mess it up

Makes sense. Thing is I like to gradually post bigger sentences as I get better with languages
