That's cool, when is the first DLC coming out?

It said early 2023. They haven’t gave an exact release date yet.

Perfect, it shouldn't take long.

Finished up the Animal Buddy lineup today! We got:

Engaurde the Swordfish - He can help Rayman and Reesie navigate the treacherous water levels, he’s also only the way to break cages underwater, thanks to his sharp bill.


Squitter the Spider - Don’t be afraid! Squitter is friendly! He aids the limbless duo by shooting webs at enemies. He can also make web platforms for him to stand on!


Rattly the Rattlesnake - With a spring in his step, Rattly can help the heroes reach higher areas the Team-Up Toss can’t.


And finally, Bzzit the Miskito - Bzzit works the same as he does in Rayman Redemption, he’s able to fire balls of energy at enemies, he also is able to carry the two through levels where Blue Lums aren’t accessible.

You see the barrels with their icons? Well, like in DKC2, the two are able to transform into that buddy for either a whole stage or a part of it. The transformation/Animal Buddy will go away when reaching a No Animal Buddy Sign. All four will give the pair five to ten yellow Lums.

Also is Squitter going to be in more vertical levels? I'm more used to seeing him facing right, not up.

Update: I decided to ditch the pre-rendered Animal Buddies as they might clash with Rayman and Reesie. So I decided to use some custom sprites in the style of DK: King of Swing! These were created by Michael Peterson on The Spriters Resource! Credit will be given to him, of course.


And ontop of that, another Animal Buddy is joining the squad: Ellie the Elephant from DKC3!

To answer your question, yup! He’ll be used in levels where the goal is way far up. Same with Bzzit.

Another update! I decided to redo Rayman’s sprites altogether because I want him and Reesie to be same size. Because before, Rayman was much bigger while Reesie had to be scaled up to reach his size. But that caused some distortion because her collision was screened up. I finished fixing the sheet that contains almost all his animations (the animation when he jumps off a bouncy surface is gone and that makes me sad since that’s my favorite animation because of how cute he looked.) this also means I gotta remake his new animations like his team-up animations.


Reesie’s sheet doesn’t have swinging so I may exclude the ability to swing on rings unless it’s something I want only Rayman to do.

Will send the .yyp when everything is sorted…again. :’D

Yup! They’ll be playable when either riding on one or transforming into one! Crawling has also been scrapped as Rayman’s frames weren’t right at all. Same with swinging as Reesie’s aren’t available. So instead of swinging, you’ll be given Blue Lums to get to secret areas.

This sounds awesome and should be great in terms of gameplay!

Yup, I’m hoping the small team and I can make this a great fangame! Also, I’ve been changing animations, changing Rayman’s voice clips to have his Rayman 2 voice clips since I think they’d fit more. Speaking of animations, I remade Reesie’s death animation.

Which voice did you use before instead of Rayman 2?

I was originally gonna use Rayman 3s voice clips. But as time went on, I figured using Rayman 2 clips would fit more.

I plan to reuse these, yup. I also found where he’s lowering his head. I may crop his feet and use it for ducking while on the Toboggan.
