Well, you ought to know it's quite fun to make well meaning forum posts. This isn't Discord, after all.
Ahhh the joys of being ninja posted!
And then not quoting the person I'm responding to!

That's why I've been quoting people to help out with that. It just feels like it makes it useful to help alert others of an actual conversation, as much as it is for myself to receive them. I use the notifications to help.

Let's not also forget the time we postmaxxed back in 2013/2014. It was fun but we definitely rubbed some folks the wrong way when we interrupted legit conversations in threads. There's a balance to be had and I'm glad we insist and focus on that more now considering.
Ah yes, as much fun as that was, I cannot blame the others for having been annoyed. But we've grown beyond such childish behaviors.
Speaking of childish behavior, have I missed any memorable shenanigans lately?

I still remember the pre-phpbb3 days, we didn't have reply notifications back then. Hell, I don't think we had notifs in general, only for PMs.

Yeah, PMs were the only thing that gave you a form of notification.

To be fair, we're also under a lot more constraints than we were back then. I'd argue that's probably for the best considering how spammy things got. Like the bonk thread comes to mind for example.
I had the very same thought
this morning!

Yeah, threads like that only inflated the number anyway. Some things are best left locked away.

I agree on this. Some of the things that used to get posted were insane too during that time period. It's probably more fun having lower numbers and getting to know each other in the process.

Nevertheless all of it was part of a big picture atmosphere which defined what RPC was at that time. I'd say it was cool while it lasted.

The best part about this community was meeting a lot of great people here, and making great friends from it.

This still seems so funny, even though understandably Plum didn't find it very funny to have to delete pages of the stuff.

Yeah I have had a few conversations with people on record day at times who I never would have even spoken with otherwise. It's kind of nice.

Yepyep, albeit being definitely more active in the french forums I bonded a lot with the people in there.
