Making it fighting only Pokemon is incredibly understandable, but Mewtwo is very much a possibility. He could be possibly a final boss in the arcade mode like Ogre in Tekken? STREAM is over but the gameplay we got was brilliant, can't fucking wait for this.

Yeah, that would be cool. Like, normal Mewtwo could be the equivalent of normal Ogre then one of his mega evolutions could be the equivalent of True Ogre. Also I wanna see Poliwrath in this as a fighter, he would be my main for sure.

Imagine if they just threw Heihachi in the game for the craic, though. Or the animal Tekken characters, like Kuma and Roger. That would make things more hilarious.

They should have Heihachi dressed up as a Pokemon trainer lel.

If anything I think Jin would fit Pokemon trainer a bit better, hehe

True, then they could have old Heihachi as Professor Oak or Rowan. :P

The fact that it's a Japan only release so far is a huge "Fuck you" to all of us not in Japan, we better get this on the Wii U later along the line...

So are Nintendo crossovers gonna become a trend? We see Hyrule Warriors, now this, I hope we can see this continue.

Yeah, considering how popular both Tekken and Pokemon are in the US/Europe they would be insane not to bring it over!
Also, there's that Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei thingy too. Could this be Nintendo's tactic to become best m8s with third parties? Maybe a Mario and Call of Duty: Mushroom Warfare cross over next! ;)

There is a North American version of the trailer, and the North American Pokémon Twitter has been tweeting the announcements.

If you've followed any traditional fighters before, even just the Tekken games, you'll know how they always release in Japanese arcades first, and release an upgraded console version later.

They will put this on Wii U. They'll probably only officially announce a console version after the Arcade release.

That makes sense, I look forward to future annoucnments. I'm actually much more hyped for this than the Ruby and Saphire remakes; honestly, I'm feeling a bit burned out on traditional Pokemon games at the minute.

Rayfist wrote:Tekken and Street fighter introduced me to the fighting genre, and Pokemon introduced me to the RPG genre, so this is a combination of the best of both worlds. For those of you that haven't played Tekken but are excited for this, do it now.

Announced fighters so far:
Blaziken (Already decided my main, lol)
Machamp
Lucario
Croagunk please.

(PS this game looks sexy and I need to invest money into a WiiU at this rate)

Are you fucking kidding me? I like turn based stuff and all but come the fuck on. I wouldn't want to play a turn based game in an arcade. When I'm in an arcade I'm here for being in full control of my character, blasting away combos. So it's pretty much a next gen version of Battle Revolution. *sigh* What a missed opportunity. At least we have Tekken 7 and Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire to look forward to.

I just looked into the website further and found: "Video Entertainment Analysis Group is a character-based network; we are acting, and this is satire."
THANK FUCK.

When it comes to Pokemon the general rule is "If it's not on Serebii it's fake".

Yep, it wasn't making very much sense to me of the concept of being a turn based game in the arcades. So I knew something seemed off.

Speaking of Serebii it shows some of the sweet ass pre-order bonuses for Europeans and UK residents. One of the better bonuses being these Primal figures which you can get depending on the game : http://serebii.net/orasfigures.jpg

Some more information on Pokken Tournament - the game won't play exactly like a Tekken game, it turns out, it will be it's own new kind of thing. Also, "technologically speaking", they won't have any trouble in implementing any Pokémon they want.
