Yeah, that's the point. Just mount the virtual CD.

I think I love you now :coeur: Do I have to download the files for the two discs, or just the one file above?

If you're getting the installed files then you don't really need to download both disc ISOs, it's only disc 2 you need to run the game, just like you would with the physical copy.

Also finding XPadder super useful for the controls...

So I download Rayman Arena, and Rayman Arena disc 2 to mount it?

Yeah, just use Daemon Tools, PowerISO or something of the sort to mount the disc, and it should run fine.

But do I have to burn it in a physical CD/DVD?

No, did you even listen to me? I said mount the CD with Daemon Tools/PowerISO/something. That literally means mount the virtual disc. As far as I recall, physical CDs didn't require you to virtually mount them after you've already physically mounted it by sticking it in the optical drive. :|

If you're unsure what 'mounting' is, it's the virtual simulation of putting a disc (ISO) in the drive, thus there's no reason to burn it to a disc. You can burn it if you want through and use that; it might be slower than mounting, but it's probably a little more stable.

New problem: some of the textures seem a bit of a mess:

Mainly the ground texture being stretched and most of the vine texture that's gone missing. What could be the cause of this?

Hmm, I'm not having that glitch. Did you try maybe fiddling with the Textures Quality dropdown in the DX8 setup? I'm not sure that would fix anything, but it's worth a try.

I'll hop in game to see if I can find the cause.

EDIT:

I can't find it, and I've tried pretty much every setting combination. Maybe play with some stuff in your GPU control panel? Do you have decent cooling? Sometimes if your card gets really hot, especially in a hot Summer like this one, the VRAM can screw with itself and you can often get texturing artifacts as a result.

My laptop has an Intel i5 chip in so I don't know if it's anything to do with that; no combinations are fixing it. It's like it with the European Rayman M as well so it must be the way it's handling it. I'll try using the Arena installs on my mum's computer again (no need to install Polish versions anymore whee) since that has a different graphics card. OTHERWISE it's been fine.

Edit: it's definitely my Intel i5 that's not getting on so well; my mum's desktop computer has an ATI Radeon and all textures are working.

Ive got Rayman Rush today.
Its awensome, but i have a problem with it. I cant save it. Im using a memory card for PS1, but every time i try to save, a text says that theres no space even though i havent played any other games with the PS1 memory card. When i go to the PS2 menu to free space from the PS1 card, it says NO DATA. Seriously what the heck? Is this because i have the slim PS2? Cant PS1 cards be used on those?

If its because of that tell me how can i unlock Globette?

I can assure you it's not because your PS2 is slim, having only owned a PS2 slim and being more than capable of being able to use PS1 memory cards.
Have you got any other PS1 games? Try testing an seeing if there's a problem there.

I own Rayman Rush, a PlayStation 2 Slim (One of the latest models) and an official PS1 memory card. I never had problems in saving.

@Mammoth Did you try to blow air to the memory card? It might be dust.

Try that Mammoth, it works most of the times on my friend's memory card when it screws and get glitchy with save data.

Use your massive trunk to give it a nice harsh blow of air.

I tried that but no effect. Maybe because its one of those crappy red unofficial (not Sony) cards. Gotta find a better one.

I managed to open most of the levels and Globette, but i had to play over four hours, because of the lack of memory card.

Well that's 2 hours less i continuously played Rayman 2 on DC due to the lack of the saving. :oops2:

I once completed Rayman Rush on my tablet using fPSE, although the controls were fuking tricky. Not because of the touchscreen, but Ubisoft screwed up the controls, even that was hard to complete the game on my PC. :mefiant:

fPSE is an emulator right?
I agree with you about the controls. I enjoy Rayman Rush a lot but the controls are clumsy. I spotted many small issues through the game. In Nebulous tower, the third tentacle in the end of the track always manages to smash me even though i shoot at it XD.

Yep that's an emulator. I could easily complete Crash Team Racing on the tab, so that means the controls or Rayman Rush are a piece of crap.

That can happen quite often, also in Rayman M, if the timing is just right. They tend to smack you even as they're going down into the ground. As for the memory cards, blow in them, then in the slot in your PS, then again in the mem card. Don't know why you should do it twice, but that kind of tactic has proven succesful for me in the past.
