And this is exactly the reason I like it so much.Gagaman wrote:Still, at least it's a sign Rayman has some relevance in pop culture again for the first time since probably the first game.

I love Spy and Spy from MAD. Those two characters are real fun. I also have a MAD game. It's Monopoly, but in reverse: you need to lose all your money as quickly as possible and there are several events on the board that will grant you more money and thus frustration.

Re: Rayman himself
Makes me wonder if the show has replaced the magazine entirely, or if it's just an expansion.Gagaman wrote:MAD TV has been going a while now, though only airs in America as far as I know. Recall seeing some skit where the Thundercats get invaded by memes from the internet, and there was a Sonic spoof or two on it once as well. Sketch wise it's a mixed bag really, and this Rayman skit looks...odd. Still, at least it's a sign Rayman has some relevance in pop culture again for the first time since probably the first game.
Hell yes, Spy vs Spy kicks ass!Shrooblord wrote:I love Spy and Spy from MAD. Those two characters are real fun.
EDIT: I found a horribly recorded version of the Rayman episode
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-vr32KwETc
It's more of a parody of Everybody Loves Raymond though.

Re: Rayman himself
My friend sent me the link to the preview on skype a few nights back, and I'll be honest, I thought it looked terrible and unfunny, but now I've actually watched it, it was funnier than I expected it to be at first, but not hilarious.

That was the point, it's not a small screen, you could hear something irritating on the other video as well. Now enjoy this one SILLYWILLY.RayFan9876 wrote:El Dango already linked it to us above, but thanks for the higher quality version!

Re: Rayman himself
Knowing it's an Everybody loves Raymond parody, all of this makes perfect sense. I really liked the seal part.
Re: Rayman himself
Oh gosh, the parody
! I'm glad it had subtitles for I could listen better the nearly mute sound.
Although it is a silly parody, I like how Rayman is getting attention again. I liked the presence of Mr. Dark.

LOL, CN's mad is amazing! I liked the show, but now that I know that it has a Rayman parody, I love it!! , hahaha!
I loved the whining rayman, he totally killed me x'D
Ok, for people who don't know what MAD is:
Mad is a weird american magazine, featuring tons and tons of parodies about pop culture, politics, videogames, cartoons, etc. Recently, cartoon network created a show about said magazine, featuring shorts with different styles of animation and different types of humour (Pretty much like Kablam from Nickelodeon, remember?). Going on-topic again, it makes me happy to know that Rayman is being considered "pop culture" in this cartoon. After a lot of years, Rayman is recovering the Lightspot!

The cartoon is pretty hilarious. I like Mr. Dark's appearance and portraying Betilla as Rayman's wife and them having Teensy children because fuck logic.

Is it just me, or were they calling Betilla "Betilda?"

Re: Rayman himself
While the subtitles say that her name is "Betilla", they pronounce it "Betilda" possibly to avoid copyright issues. MAD does this usually. This would also explain why Rayman has a retard forehead, Globox looks like a guitar, and Rabbids have red lipstick on their mouths.RayFan9876 wrote:Is it just me, or were they calling Betilla "Betilda?"

Ah, I figured it might have something to do with copyright.sergiomonty wrote:While the subtitles say that her name is "Betilla", they pronounce it "Betilda" possibly to avoid copyright issues.
