Re: Rayman 3 Scores

Yeah, I know the most used tricks, like grabbing things with power suit, saving valuable objects as late in the combo as possible, and use enemy combo time for the long runs.
Shame to hear you're experiencing problems as well, though those points in LA shouldn't be that hard to score under normal conditionsXenon wrote:I suppose we can all share your story about motivation. I haven't played the game for months now. I believe I'm still somewhere in TLOTLD, though I don't remember where specifically, aiming for those additional 1500 points. The game itself has developed some glaring deficiencies, namely its tendency to randomly freeze and cause me to restart the whole thing. That combined with the fact that there is pretty much zero activity in this thread (and also I'm clearly not going to be able to improve my rank position) my enthusiasm for the game has run dry.
I wonder, who exactly is this Nekrophil and what scoring techniques have you been discussing?
So you managed to hit Razoff four times!?mostwanted82 wrote:I'm happy that I decided to go for the Triple Glitch despite my previous troubles, and thus avoided having a rather frustating time in Part 6
Yeah, I couldn't agree more on your first statementXenon wrote:It's not the difficulty that's at the heart of this: it's the monotony and dullness of playing alone. 2009 was the zenith of scoring activity in this thread, and ever since then people have become less and less interested in playing because of the decreasing quality of competition.
And I actually had a feeling Nekrophil was another one of Cut's identities! It was one of those moments where you randomly associate someone with a certain name. I was too embarrassed to say anything though, of course.
And about the scoring, I'm really sorry to hear about your savegame issues. If you replay TBOM on a different savegame and post a screenshot of 100799 (should you achieve it), I'll enter your details on the HOF and make the relevant amendments. Would this resolve matters?

Anyway, it was nice to have have confirmed what most of us had guessed, namely that Cut = Nekrophil. Getting the four green gems in the Xowar room in combo with a Pig for 6000 combo points my a**.
Good to hear people haven't lost interest in Rayman 3 altogetherHaruka wrote:I also haven't been playing: school and drawing comissions.
I need to improve the TSBTC and TTOTL scoring.

Not too pleased to hear that, I hope you can regain some motivation soon...DTUCC wrote:I can share your guys' demotivation. Can't get myself to play as well. Still stuck with my experiments in part 2 of LS. Can't seem to get the green gem in a bigger combo. Either not hitting the door, getting stuck on a platform or not even making it down there in time.
As for FC, and improvement wouldn't get me up much higher. Like half a year ago I calculated what score I would have if I played MandM's combos. Not a satisfying result, though. LS just doesn't motivate me if I can't get this outstanding improvement to work. And I'm pretty sure I won't.
Oh well...
Also, I met a guy on youtube. He kept asking me questions about scoring and I finally advised him to sign up here. He told me he did, his screenname is ReignOwner. Hasn't posted so far, though. I was hoping we could get some activity.
I'm trying to think out some own, easier solutions for good combos. I think I'll list down my scores so far. They're not exact, and not very good, either.mostwanted82 wrote:Hedgehog: Keep in mind, the key to success is patience and persistance
If ya wanna aim for a great score, you need determination and shouldnt give up that easily
How's your score developing btw?
It's a shame to hear that, even though your situation is understandablesfn42 wrote:I actually have a savegame with 88k after SBTC part 2 but I don't think I'll ever pick it up from there. FC: 28,000
CF: 73,000
BOM: 38,000
TLotLD: 71,000
DoTK: 57,000
LS: 36,000
SBTC: 41,000
HH: 65,000
TToTL: 45,000
Yeah, they're not that great, but I'm still improving
I sympathize with that. It is possible to pass 112.000 points in SBTC but I can’t bring myself to play this part ever again. Just thinking about the millions of restarts makes me sick.sfn42 wrote:I actually have a savegame with 88k after SBTC part 2 but I don't think I'll ever pick it up from there. Hmm, the difference of being in the 850k – 860k bracket rather than the 840k – 850k bracket should be sufficient motivation.Xenon wrote: I believe I'm still somewhere in TLOTLD, though I don't remember where specifically, aiming for those additional 1500 points. I tried the LS part 2 thing some time ago and I was far away from doing it. It’s easy enough to get to the top level using the right moving platforms, and it’s also possible to reach the lower room before the gate closes. But it seems impossible to get a Crown, fall down/helicopter and then hit the wall with a curved shot in time to keep the combo going. My best effort was seconds away from being a success.DTUCC wrote:I can share your guys' demotivation. Can't get myself to play as well. Still stuck with my experiments in part 2 of LS. Great score after part 2. The rest should be a piece of cake.mostwanted82 wrote:Made quite some progress, yesterday I was able to complete LOTLD Part 2 with 66k![]()
I'm aiming for the max now, afterwards I have no other choice than playing DOTK, even tho I rather planned doing something else originally![]()

Do you remember your score after part 1?
I'm trying to get better in DOTK, as I want to get the Hoodoo/Green Gem combo in the second to last part done...I never react quick enough to get past the Hoodlockmostwanted82 wrote:That's a good foundation already, nice
I personally advise you to try TLOTLD or DOTK, but it's your choice, I'm always ready to help out tho
You have any particular goals?
Thanks, I'm mostly into getting higher scores in DOTK and BOM, although I'm having some problems with, well, ALL the Razoff combos. Developed some of my own BOM combos, I might try The Long Combo when my score reach high enough. I'm most likely gonna ignore the Hoodlum restart glitch first, though, takes too long timeMandM81 wrote:That’s the spirit.
Don’t let the tired old players bring you down with their less than encouraging ranting.
Your scores are ok, but there is plenty of room for improvement. And you can take courage from the fact that the game for you will be funny and exciting for a long time to come. Making new combos work is a great feeling. Many old timers will envy you.
Well this was the mindset I had when I returned to TLOTLD. But now, this just doesn't cut it for me and all I see is numbers.MandM81 wrote:Hmm, the difference of being in the 850k – 860k bracket rather than the 840k – 850k bracket should be sufficient motivation.
