I agree with you. Even though he resembles Teensies from R2 and R3, he doesn't look at all like the Teensies from RO.

This difference in looks may be because of his converting to the dark side.

I now found some new gameplay footage of the daisy boss without the interview interruptions- http://e3.gamespot.com/video/6318804/
Plus from the showcase- http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/997723- ... eo-6318800
http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/997723- ... eo-6318802
These videos are actually from this interview but without the interview and with the original sound from the game-
http://e3.gamespot.com/video/6318803/ (I think it was posted already).
I also found new images of 4 player gameplay in an article- http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2011/06/r ... ewall=true

About the Mr. Dark = Polokus theory, I think Mr. Dark is a creature who becomes bad by Polokus' nightmares and then he takes Polokus' throne by force and becomes the king of the dark creatures (all that happening maybe between RO and R1...?)

I've seen some pictures of walls of concept art and the exclamation road sign could be seen in one of them, so we can only assume it will be in the final game.
"Yeah!"

Anyone know anything about cages yet?

Also, I'm deeply disappointed with that Mr Dark... :pfff:

Or what about being connected to the Great Protoon's stealing?

It is an unecessary explanation too, everyone knows that at the time every character was limbless in R1 mainly due to processing problems in the consoles of the time.

They have appear in various gameplay videos, they contain electoons just like in Rayman 1 where you have to save all from the stage.

On the subject of Mr. Dark, what's with the two teensie designs? We have the Grand Minimus one, okay, but then we have one wearing blue and another wearing black. Was one ditched at some point? Because I could swear I saw both running around at E3. The one in black has the faintest resemblance to Mr. Dark, at least in fashion sense.

Its just me or is the lava stage from Rayman Origins making lots of references to other games like tetris and those little dragons from puzzle booble?

Yes, they look familiar to various dragon-ish characters.

Of course that was tetris :D that was hilarious I didnt see it coming :L

By the way isn't that Polokus's stand Mr Dark is on? Lol if he is a teensie... that might explain the presence of the 2 extra teensie players. I gotta admit, Ubisoft are making a funny game and well, I might not like the idea of him being a teensie but I didn't expect it either :L having an evil teensie might be interesting...

Besides, his character might make up for his looks. He also needs an evil laugh.

Yep, I also told before that the Baby Dragon Chefs did were similar with Bub and Bob from Taito's games.

One of you guys said something about how Rayman 3 wasn't getting any love...in all honesty, this whole game feels like rayman one and two from the perspective of three. The humour, the art style, the whole thing feels all stitched together.
Each day, Rayman Origins is looking more and more like the sequel to the first game that they never really made. Rayman 2 wasn't the true sequel in my opinion, because not only was it 3D but it also seemed to strip away any references to the first game i.e Mr Dark, the Electoons, the Great Protoon etc. It felt disconnected from the first game, almost completely. However, I can also see quite a few nods to Rayman 2 in all the clips/trailers, although it still feels more like Rayman 1 to me (which is a VERY good thing IMHO).

Regarding my post about Mr Dark being a Teensie... it was supposed to be tongue-in-cheek. I've got no real issues with him being a Teensie, although I'll admit that the idea of him being one was a little perplexing at first.

RO is more inspired in R1 than the other 2 games, but still it aglutinates details from each game.

I can see what he means about it being like the unreleased sequel though.

Mind, I find it incredibly ironic that Ancel is making a game similar in ascetic to Rayman 3 after calling it 'too concrete'- of course, he also made beyond good and evil, which is VERY concrete :V

I think they ditched the idea. They won't need them, since they already have the photographer thing as an end of the level, that swirly thing seen in some videos as a teleporter within levels and also every time Rayman dies he revives in the same room, so he doesn't need a checkpoint (I hope they change that to green Lums as checkpoints).

About the references to other games, don't forget they probably also made a reference to Tonic Trouble (it was also made by Ancel)-

Both this level and the one seen in the trailer have water, ice and floating orange slices. I REALLY hope they did that on purpose, that's my favorite level!

Im not sure if anyones brought this up yet, but I find the revelation that Rayman was created by the nymphs/fairies to be a little.. I don't know, anticlimactic? Just in relation to the entire knowledge of the world thing building it up as such a great secret that he is the only resident not created by (or descended of a creation of) Polokus. Sometimes I thought it would be kind of a build up to him being the creation of another god, possibly one that meant harm to Polokus and who would use Rayman as a weapon or something. I dunno just fanficing but I honestly think the grand revelation to be a little bit of a letdown.. Thoughts anyone?

I love the way the drum music that plays when the characters are climbing the nenuphars to escape the monster sounds extremely similar to the drum music that plays in the PlayStation version of the original game when Rayman is climbing the platforms in Mr Stone’s Peaks to escape the rising water.

I doubt all this talk of Mr Dark on ‘Polokus’s stone’ has any substance to it. The resemblance is most likely a superficial one which implies no canonical connection, much like the Livingstones’ airship, the resemblance of which to the Robo-Pirates’ Warships is a source of welcome familiarity but is ultimately meaningless. A flying ship is a flying ship and a cool stone is a cool stone.

Yes, the idea of an evil Teensy with long grey hair is what sold it for me. My only concern is that his glowing yellow eyes must be retained. The evil laugh is another trademark, of course.

I don’t see any real aesthetic similarities between Rayman 3 and Rayman Origins. The characters look goofy and Rayman’s wearing a hoodie, but that’s about it. It draws much more from Rayman 1 and Rayman 2, with locations like Band Land and the Land of the Dead. I don’t think Beyond Good & Evil is very ‘concrete’ either; I believe Ancel was referring to Rayman 3’s down-to-earth nature and general lack of wonder and amazingness compared to the previous games.

I also thought the exit signs were scrapped, but there will certainly be checkpoints of some sort. What if you’re playing through the game by yourself and you get hurt just once? Back to the start of the level? I don’t think so. Green Lums look like a strong possibility at this point.

Yes, it was my favourite level too. The name really makes it though – ‘Glacier Cocktail’. It’s just great.

Rayman was not just created by nymphs; he was specifically created by Betilla the Fairy, which ties his origins into the story of the original game. I’ve always thought of her as a sort of mother to Rayman, so the revelation that she almost literally is his mother did not seem out-of-place to me. However, it doesn’t make much sense considering that Rayman is meant to be the only character not created by Polokus, since the nymphs themselves are creations of Polokus. Perhaps there is more to Rayman’s origins than we know. Consider the moon connection, for example. I think we’ll hear more about the night of his birth as we collect those relics... I’m still sort of hoping Mr Dark will turn out to be his father somehow...
