Unless it's spiraldoor who will start to rant and make a wall of text indicating the importantness of the letter ''l'' in ''walrus'' or something.

Don't give him ideas.

You’re really breaking the mould of clever humour there, ‘Rulez’. Laudable stuff.Rulez wrote:Unless it's spiraldoor who will start to rant and make a wall of text indicating the importantness of the letter ''l'' in ''walrus'' or something.
Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
I'm sorry spiral, but I'm just too much of a dumbass to understand the first sentence of your message
Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
And then they I go off-topic. Well...
Rabbids needs to put an end to it. The humour is... tiring.

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
I wish people would properly justify why they so deathly hate Rabbids instead of just saying "they ruined Rayman" etc.
Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
To be honest, I think "they ruined Rayman" is a pretty good argument to hate the rabbids. Many people like the rabbids, but those who hate them are usually the ones who loved the old Rayman games. And yes, the developers who decided that a party game based on the rabbids would replace the platformer ruined Rayman. At least back in 2006, because now there's Rayman Origins.Cairnie wrote:I wish people would properly justify why they so deathly hate Rabbids instead of just saying "they ruined Rayman" etc.
I got a Wii recently and I think the first RRR is pretty good (haven't tried out the rest yet). The challenges are quite funny on the Wii (but on the Wii alone), but the humour still isn't. Like RayTunes said, it's tiring, and that's because it's not balanced well: a whole game based on the humour aspect alone? No thanks. From what we've seen, the old Rayman 4 was going to be a mix of the humour of RRR and some epic battles with thousands of rabbids and enormous robots, epic animal rides (eagle FTW!), stealth sections and a great storyline. It still hurts when I think what a great game it could have been instead of the mediocre party game we got.
The Rayman 4 platformer was canned because it didn't take full advantage of the Wii's motion control. I think that for the Wii, this was a good decision. For Rayman and for all the other consoles, it wasn't.
Basically, I hated the rabbids (I don't care that much anymore now) because of what they promised us first by showing us the beautiful, godly game that was Rayman 4 and then giving us a game without a good story, without any epic rabbid battles (the FPS sections didn't do the job), without a great soundtrack made by Eric Chevalier (because he was going to make it), without any platforming and almost without Rayman. It then disappointed me to see that they made more of it and seemed to forget Rayman - even though he was still in the title for no apparent reason. Luckily, they solved that mistake by getting rid of Rayman altogether and making the rabbids a separate franchise. Seeing how Rabbids Go Home was to be made by Ubisoft Montpellier, the team behind Rayman, didn't give me any hope for future Rayman games either. That changed with Origins, so I'm quite happy now.
... even though it seems they gave Rayman and Globox the brain of a rabbid

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
I agree Rabbids did ruin Rayman, I remember back in 05 or 06 when they released trailer for "rayman 4" showing off some epic gameplay such as rayman punching the living poo out of rabbids and riding giant beasts! The rabbids seemed to be scary and zombie like as opposed to the annoying little brats they are today. That was the sole reason i was going to buy a Wii, i was so excited....then they turned it into a party game
It wasn't bad game but it was a bad rayman game...Then sequels began pouring out, still using "Rayman" in the title although after the first there was really no point of him being there and was very demeaning to watch the greatest game hero ever, degrade to almost nothing. But now Rayman and Rabbids are FINALLy seperated, rayman origins here we come
.
Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
Drolpiraat is correct. The Rabbids haven't fault for the big change, the team behind the game developing does.Drolpiraat wrote:To be honest, I think "they ruined Rayman" is a pretty good argument to hate the rabbids. For Rayman and for all the other consoles, it wasn't.Pressing buttons to solve the challenges in RRR when I first played it on PS2 was disappointingly dull. The Wii version was a lot better in this aspect, but that also means everyone who didn't own a Wii missed out.

Yes, I also must agree with the decision of changing to a party game in Wii's case. I also have the RRR for the PlayStation 2 and the feeling isn't the same as in Wii: it is more boring.
I find RRR a good game but I prefer the sequel. I was also between a relationship of love-hate with the Rabbids: they were funny but at the same time I wasn't liking how Rayman was gradually loosing his protagonism and all being centered in the Rabbids. The best decision was to separate the game series, but this could have been done before.
In 2010 I was really about to lose my hope about a real return of Rayman, I can remember saying to myself "If Rayman isn't mentioned in the E3, then I'll forget about my faith."; what a timing, Rayman Origins made my eyes shine again of hope.
Nowadays I like the Rabbids, I just find a pity that the latest games have been crappy, especially RRTiT for Wii that disappointed me.
Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
RRTiT is so small! I got 50% completed in the first time playing it!
The 3DS version is fine. Though, what I meant with ''tiring'', is that the humour is more or less repeating. The usual jokes come back every game. This was funny in RRR, perhaps a bit in RRR2, but now it's plain annoying. Rabbids for 3DS didn't even need humour.

THIS. RO may be silly, but if there is one thing I want it to avoid, it would be copying Rabbid styled humour.Drolpiraat wrote:... even though it seems they gave Rayman and Globox the brain of a rabbid![]()
Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
May Rabbids stay around the Kinect, and may Rayman be with the other consoles!

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
Well, they ruined Rayman to the point we didn't get more platformers since 2003 xD To be honest,I think that maybe Rabbids would be good for Rayman if they knew how to combine thing without extracting even the last bit of energy like a mate said in other post.If they had success with Rayman Raving Rabbids and if they had combined it with platformers alternating then in their releases, everyone would be happy and even the Rabbids would have more success because the Rayman fans wouldn't hate the Rabbids and they would be less repetitive too xD

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
I say nope.
Production of RRR2 was probably a lot cheaper than R4 would be.

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
Mini-games are easier to create than a full game.

Moreover SMG2 syndrome. They already had some ideas left from RRR1.

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
Fair enough you guys, it's just that while I too was really angry with how RRR came out I put it behind me and let myself enjoy some of its minigames and those in the next few games. Just hope that any future games will be anything better than Travel in Time Wii.
Another reason I like them personally is because I was once a fan of Worms, and I see them as Ubisoft's answer to said franchise therefore I felt free to make Rabbid OCs like I made Worms OCs. They've got that "I want to customise them" vibe to them, if you get what I mean.

Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
I see. With the only exception of me loving old Worms games, and hating Rabbids from the very brginning.
Re: Rayman Raving Rabbids
I also am a Worms fan, especially the 2D generation.
