(Side note: I double-checked this with Raymap to make sure I wasn't misremembering. Apparently the final corridor of that level leads directly upwards. Of course it makes sense since Rayman's heading for the Crow's Nest, but that level is so disorientating that I never actually realized that it was going that way!)

That is correct! 1500 * 5 for the gems, and 1500 * 4 for the combo. The doubling only starts from the 6th collected item.
