Ahmed was the lead developer of Rayman 3. If you want to claim that he is wrong, please, go ahead!
About the three bosses thing: it's a nice theory, but whenever someone says it, I have to point out that André really did die (although I often get ignored, especially by people who don't know who Ahmed Bukhelifa is). If Ancel had been leading, he'd probably have continued the style of the first two games, and had the main enemy escape.
However I think I should point out that it really is only a style thing. It's just a common theme: the diffusion of evil, as opposed to the destroyal. JRRT used it, for example.
I'd be very surprised if Ancel was using it so that he could use the terrible cliché of 'all three baddies get together and unite'. The guy's a story teller, and that's a pretty bad story.
