I hope he'll return in RRR, only that he won't go with us all the time like in Rayman 3, I got kinda tired of him after a while >.<

You make a good point. He follows you in every level except DOTK.

Well, if he didn't have his natural tendency to get captured by something or other, he would be. Though neo has said many times that he hasn't played Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc before.
