Hm, Cartmel...rings a bell. Was that the fellow behind the "Other" idea for Doctor Who before it was cancelled in the 80s?

Yes. This idea is very dear to me and I use my not-inconsiderable influence to promote it as best I can.

MUSICAL HEADCANON! This is about the Lums and their song "Glou Glou".

I thought of this headcanon when listening the track "Glou Glou" (Reprise) and reminding myself that it was featured at the end of the Nintendo 3DS trailer. Interestingly, the song was placed in the Magician's base at the end of the trailer. So I thought, maybe the Lums sing this song to reassure themselves with hope that Rayman and friends will soon set them free from the Magician's evil machinery.

Maybe it's just me, but do the Lums' song kind of sound like an extremely edited and remade version of Rayman's theme from the title screen of R1?
(One of the songs they sing when they turn red.)

Though I can see why you made the connection (the rhythm is almost identical), there's obviously no connection.

I have one about Origins/Legends. Maybe the reason Rayman really fell asleep for a hundred years was because he cried himself to sleep after the betrayal of his friend "the Magician" and his sorrow kept him asleep for a long time.

And maybe Polokus felt Rayman's sorrow while dreaming, thus putting everyone to sleep and creating nightmares.

Rayman seems very happy in his sleep though.

And he likes to eat while sleeping. What can be said? Guy knows how to enjoy in life.

Hey, don't forget the ploy behind that dance. He pretended to be Rayman's friend again for that one moment just to distract him and make his escape. THAT was cruel!!

Given the context of the current conversation, my slightly sadistic side wants to call that the "Dance of Denial," but it sounds a tad clichéd.

I kinda like it, actually. Kinda fits in with Rayman's situation too. He dances with his "friend" still wanting to believe he's still on the good side.

(DISCLAIMER : I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT ALES MANSAY IS THE MAGICIAN. I HAVE ONE HEADCANON BELIEVING SO, BUT THAT'S IT. IT'S JUST TOO HEARTBREAKING.)

@Haruka : He only went to sleep with a smile on his face. We don't know for sure if he kept it while he slept. Maybe he was just keeping his smile up so his friends wouldn't worry about him.

Yes. Very cruel. Very disturbing.

Another minor one about Mr.Dark. Why does he live in the Candy Chateau. I think it's because he likes to be the dark side of the sweet and friendly, like the Slenderman hanging around near playgrounds with lots children for his breakfast.

Funnily enough, I've heard that whole Creepy guy on kids' ground idea before, who said it last time?

Not sure. Someone also mentioned Hansel and Gretel in that conversation, which is another good comparison.

Yes, it was me who did the comparison. I always imagined that world to be most likely inspired by that story.
