I just want all the levels to be kind of like TSOSAF, that adventurous, partly freeroaming style...

...I also want a Hall of Doors, because that would rule.

Are you crazy? FPS is not the style of Rayman, and RPG sucks balls! Of course i want Rayman 4 to be a platformer. Just a platformer with free-roaming.

Understand please, free roaming + platformer - a VERY-VERY-VERY-VERY good developer = no challenge at all. It is just impossible to make a game which is based on lack of land in world where there is a lot of it.

Stan, i have no idea what you are talking about. Making good platformers with free-roaming has been done so many times before.

Free roaming would be a good idea for Rayman 4. Only, there should only be one start and end of the level. Else, it will be to confusing. For example, your seeking for the marshes and you end up on the top of the iron mountains... ^^.

Here is my idea for a Yeti bos in a snow level :

Name : Yeli
Species : Yeti
Gender : male

Status : Guardian of the ice power
Personality : He is the guardian of the ice power. The ice power is very powerfull. He is very strong and fast. That is the reason why he is the guardian of the ice power. He can tell if Rayman is the choosen one by the way he fights him. He will give Rayman the ice power if Rayman defeats him the way the ancient teensies discribed.

Axel, you mean?

This boss is way different than Axel. Mainly because he is a yeti.

...but apart from that and the name...

Axel is the guardian of the water mask. He is the guardian of the ice power .

Well, it certainly wasn´t linear, at least. And there were areas that needed to be loaded, yes.
If you´d gone somewhere you could always return somewhere else, though you always had a goal. And you had this huge map that confused me at first. D: I would classify this game as free-roaming.

Do you know what I mean by FR? I mean, from any point of game excluding "borders" of levels, you can go both forward, backward, left and right. And if not, there is simply a building, so you can move a bit and it would be possible.

Kinda like this.

Jak 2 and 3 were kinda free roam.

Rayman Revolution.
Sly 2.
Scaler.
Harry Potter games (those sucks, but they still count).
Sly 3.
Some old Spyro game i played once.
And more... Many more... Including Jak 2 and 3, as Holy Crap mentioned...

The Sly games, the Jak games and Rayman Revolution are the best examples.

Free roaming games are great because you don't have to do what you're meant to do.
But you always have to do loads of missions and stuff and you end up getting lost

Sooner or later, i always learn how to find the way around the enviroments.

You don't really ever have to do anything you're supposed to! There's sooooo much stuff in it...

Yeah, I love that game. And it became far better with the Shivering Isles-expansion because people there are just mad. : D
Can´t wait for my old computer to return from repairs so that I can play it again. : < I miss it.
