Re: [PROOF] Ubisoft is lazy! [MORE R4 PROTOTYPE DETAILS!]

Big bump.
I'm ripping the music from RRR for Xbox 360 now and to my surprise, I found out they still have sounds from the prototype in there. I haven't deciphered the format yet but I'm close, and I found some familiar sounds like the lum-collecting sound from Rayman 2, and eagle cry and eagle wing flap sounds (according to the filenames and to what I heard). Oh, and sounds from sharks and T-rexes. More importantly, it also seems to contain MUSIC from the prototype, which would be quite awesome to hear.
I don't remember any spider in RRR, though the filenames clearly say: "Spider_theme1.wam" ("wam" files are music), "Spider_jingle1.wam", "Rayman_death1.wam", "Ptizetre_incantation1.wam" (Teensie spell?), "Ptizetre_release1.wam", and lots of other files with just "test" as a filename, which weren't in any of the other versions.
It looks like I might be in for a goldmine of R4 Prototype stuff when I find out how I can convert this! :D
EDIT -> Converted the music, it's definitely not in the final game but it's pretty disappointing as it's not very good. The Teensie music is taken straight from Rayman 2.

Soo, do you plan on sharing your findings?

Of course, when I convert everything. I'll include the music in my new RRR soundtrack on RayTunes and post the sounds here. ;)
By the way, I was right to convert the music from RRR for Xbox 360. It's much higher quality than all the other versions. Even the Rayman 2 jingles are higher quality than in any version of Rayman 2. ^^

EDIT -> Found some really good music that served as placeholder music for a fight with a robot. I think it's from Tonic Trouble.
I converted some of the sounds as well and it's all definitely from the prototype. :)

EDIT 2 -> It's also very possible there are leftover textures and models from the prototype in there too, as there's an archive of a whopping 1,13GB dedicated to textures only, and an archive of about the same size dedicated to 3D models. They're both encrypted, which means they're even larger normally.

EDIT 3 -> OH MY GOD THERE ARE AMBIENTS FROM THE PROTOTYPE I HEAR EVIL ROBOTS I HEAR EVIL DESTROYED ROBOTS I HEAR HIGH PEAKS I HEAR LABORATORIES I HEAR CAVES I *head explodes*

Since it has eagle flap sounds, RayFan could use it for RotD for Rhook the Vulture :)

Yes, one of the few occasions Ubi's laziness actually creates benefit.

Ah, Michael Jackson. When I was 7 my parents warned me that if I don't go to bed before 10PM, Michael Jackson will come to me :|

Talking about Michael Jackson, they were planning to have a song from him in the game. You know, a song that plays in that dancing minigame. The first second of it is still in there - same for some other removed songs.

The song was probably Thriller, since it seems they were going to parody the music video for that anyway.

Well, here's the first part of my discoveries: the sounds. I uploaded the whole sound pack from RRR here (so not only the prototype stuff).
RRR - SFX 1: http://www.multiupload.com/MZAYJRRCUP
RRR - SFX 2: http://www.multiupload.com/2KR0OPSQDQ
Ambients and leftovers from other songs are in RRR - SFX 1.rar, while the eagle stuff (among other very interesting things) is in RRR - SFX 2.rar.
All the files have their original filenames so if they contain any interesting information about the prototype, consider it officially confirmed. ;)

The prototype placeholder music will follow later this evening. I only have to copy it to a separate directory, convert it all to mp3 and upload. ;)
EDIT -> Nevermind, I'll upload it tomorrow evening. Gotta get some sleep now. :/

Download started.

EDIT: The site Droolie used is a hub for many different download vendors. Do not select zShare, it is TOO SLOOOOW. On the other hand UploadKing or something like this done its work quite fast.

EDIT2: And now it failed. Really do not use it.

... the BIN files.
If ya finished BIN, mabe it's time to take a look at this Texture Finder? Do you think it could be able to find prototype textures?

Ambient sounds were great, eagle was nice, but all these Rabbid sounds mixed left me unable to listen to anything else.

Speaking of ambient. Anyone else found "Amb_whatever_cavern" something fitting better for some canals? With... "fast" water.

Just uploaded the music: http://www.multiupload.com/7GGCEOWPQQ
It has all the unused music from RRR, even the non-prototype ones (though most of it is from the prototype).
It was all placeholder music though so don't expect anything spectacular. If anything, this music's purpose was to get you in the right mood. That's all.
(but man if that's true then I would never have liked riding spiders in that game)

I quickly converted them to mp3, nothing else. I'll do a lot more and it'll all look a lot better when I add them to my new RRR soundtrack for RayTunes. ;)

Can't wait to listen the sound effects and musics, but I think I can only listen them tonight since I must study today. (And play RO's demo of course :mryellow: )

EDIT: Listened the musics. Somehow disappointing since the majority is recycled from previous Rayman games.
