A well made point, Shroobie, though given the Grolgoth's role as the ultimate killer machine of death, I'd expect more, instead, we hit it three times, have Razor screw up, then have it merely cling onto pillars, its only attack being homing lasers and flooding the chamber temporarily, even with no jetpack, it'd have been nice if it did more than just that.

Indeed, but I'm not sure it could have done more. Maybe he should have summoned some Hovering Bombs or Henchmen or something, but then that would've severely impacted the balance of the fight. It would've been cool if Rayman were able to temporarily jump off his Flying Shell to do battle with some minions.

Here is an enemy that he once thought just another prisoner, safely locked away within the confines of his prison cells. Suddenly he manages to escape - okay, not too big a deal, but a bit of a nuisance, surely - but he soon appears to become quite the bother: now this escapee is releasing more of his prisoners and he is - wait, what? - he is getting his grubby little hands on the four ... no! He is getting his filthy paws on the Four Masks of Polokus! Surely, his most loyal lackey will be able to destroy him. One cannot simply outrun a hoard of Warships and elite Ninja Pirates - right? Right? Uhhh... surely he can't get all the way through the Iron Mountains and free all the other prisone-- surely he can't make his way through the Prison Ship and - well, shit. Apparently he's right at the door. The only possible outcome: a face-to-face confrontation with this monstrosity that has single-handedly defeated three/four elemental guardians at least five times his size and twelvefold his power, destroyed scores of his soldiers, smashed about every cage and barrier he put in his way and has now clambered through the depths of his hostile Prison Ship to end up right there by him.
He's bound to be nervous. And then he finally manages to kill him at last, only to be surprised he's still alive. Will nothing stop him? This is his first time piloting the Grolgoth, but surely he can figure out how it works. It stomps, it shoots, it pulls - okay, sure, that works fine, but it's not quite getting to him. Maybe a little bit more power will do it -- and then he accidentally destroyes the floor beneath his feet. Nowhere left to go but between three pillars overhanging a precariously placed lake of lava, he is determined to destroy Rayman. But there's no foothold - this machine has no jet pack - the only thing keeping him alive is his arms and he needed those to shoot Rayman! WELL GODDAMN IT. At least he still has homing rockets...

The whole situation seems far more plausible to me - and it seems a whole lot more understandable. Of course, in the PS1 version, the Grolgoth does have jetpacks, so I guess that's where that part of the battle comes from...
Anyway - those were my thoughts.
Nobody could have described this better. :D

Maybe Razorbeard just sucked at Grolgothing?

Sorry, what? I never got why Umber just walks to his death when rayman on his head (honestly as an 8 year old I was just relieved that that monster of a level was finally over) So what was the reason?

I believe Ly contacted Umber so he would help Rayman wake up Polokus. Foutch on the other hand was way too precautious.

At least in PS1 he doesn't kill himself, he just brings Rayman to the mask and talks with him.

You can't be sure he actually kills himself though. Maybe he's wearing his flame-retarding underpants.

I thought that there would be propably three 2D games, but now with Legends being so big thing I think the next game is 3D, though I'm quite sure that they will be working on Beyond Good and Evil 2 instead of Rayman.

If they do decide to do a 3D Rayman game in the future, I hope it'll be in the same gorgeous quality of that CG trailer.

I hope it has the same quality too, but not the same style. The wacky Rayman Origins style fits 3D Rayman games even less than the 2D ones.

I dunno. I thought the transition from 2D to 3D was spectacular.

I do hope the next game will be 3D but have a 2D twist in it. :D

A la Super Mario 3D World?
Eh...it'd have to be handled carefully, I don't want a slapfest 3D Rayman, tbh.
